Everyone is moving on pretty fast from Solomon Young it looks like! Lard is the new big man hope for 2016-17 now?
I don't see why we couldn't play 2 forwards. Is there a rule against that?

If he's in shape at all, play him.
We're not asking a ton from that spot offensively. If he can rebound and play occasional defense, that's a good step up right now. If we can get him a couple easy dunks a game, even better.
Your mind works in a funny way. People debating if he should play, and the ones that are for it say only if he can help the team, and you automatically assume they are saying he will start and play majority of the minutes.Everyone is moving on pretty fast from Solomon Young it looks like! If this is actually the case, I'd say let him play now. I mean, he's only missed 11 games. If he can step in and be any sort of upgrade, he needs to be on the court now.
Well it's not like the guys playing now have this figured out.I think that's easier said than done. It's not as simple as saying "I got that guy" and off you go. He has to understand the whole defensive scheme and the rotations and how to defend the pick and roll. Very few guys get it right away; for most young bigs their heads are spinning at first and it takes time for the game to slow down for them.
And if Prohm is serious about playing more four guard lineups, that's going to put a ton of pressure on the lone big in the lineup on the defensive side of things. That guy has to make the right reads, help and recover, keep tabs on his guy, be the last line of defense at the rim, and clean the glass. That's a ton to put on an 18 year old joining the team at the semester. I'm not saying it won't happen and it's not an indictment of Lard, I'm just saying it's long odds.
Play him or get busted against the big teams.
The plan was to have Lard and have him play all year before the academic issues were realized so I'd agree let him play if in shape and looks ready (and is eligible).
I would want to caution again that fans shouldn't expect anything out of Cameron the rest of the year though considering he hasn't even practiced. That said Solomon Young looks to be ready for minutes so there is a possibility Lard could be ready for a role even if a small one.
Seems like the opposite from what I'm seeing. Get Young more minutes, more experience.
McKay had practiced with Iowa St for a full year before he played.McKay played at Semester..depends on what kind of shape he's in..he's got 4 years left so if he's deemed ready to play and is surely an upgrade over Holden then he could play..my guess is they sit him let him acclimate..

A technicality. I like it.Pretty sure he has visited campus before so 100% chance you are wrong.![]()
