Caitlin Clark

Probably getting crap for this but imo the best PG in this state resides in Ames. Emily doesn't score as much because ISU is more balanced offensively. Clark averages 1 more assist a game than Ryan but Ryan is better in the PG stat that matters most imo which is assist to turnover ratio.
Holy sh**

She's pretty damn good, it came down to Notre Dame and Iowa for her if I remember correctly and she had offers from pretty much everyone I want to say including UConn but not 100% sure on that. She really does have incredible range on her 3 point shooting, pretty good handle and good vision while passing. I'm guessing most of the complaining on this board is because we're Cyclones and to be honest most of us don't want Hawk success, it just makes recruiting against them that much harder.
I appreciate the thoughtful response. And I think I agree with you for the most part. It's easy to be a jealous hater when your in state rival has a talent like that. Just like I wish our men's team had Keegan Murray on it

I've only seen snippets, mostly because I don't want to watch Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball games. Is she as good as she is because of the 'system' she is in? I can't buy that a barely 6'0'' 140 pound white girl from central Iowa is the best player in women's basketball like so many on Twitter like to claim. Like, is she really better than the girls that sign up to play at Baylor, UCONN, South Carolina, Stanford other WBB blue bloods etc? Seems like she would just be another body at schools like that. Tell me I'm wrong and I'll stop the keyboard warrior'ing.
I would say you are wrong.

I am interested in how their recruiting goes forward now. It had become clear that iowas offense is basically a two person show. Will other solid offensive players look at the situation and shy away thinking they will not see the ball much? I don’t know if kids look at those things that much. Think their center may be done. Wonder if Crooks ma be their recruit to replace.

Have you heard any rumors on where she may go? Offers from lots of teams including ISU I believe.

To be fair, Bill landed Ashley when ISU basketball was the Bridget Carleton show.

There's balance too. I'm not saying don't run offense through her, I'm saying that she can't be the offense. FWIW BF learned his lesson on this last year with Ashley Joens. When games were close we had a tendency to run everything through Ashley and it cost us more games than we won.
I didn't watch the Iowa/Michigan game, only highlights, but echoing your points, could it have been closer if she had passed it off instead of missing a few deep ones? Probably. It'll be interesting to see how Bluder handles her going forward.

Says a lot about the rest of the team if Clark taking on double and triple teams instead of passing to open teammates is their best chance to win...

The good thing is we're better than Iowa right now, and we'll be better next year after both teams lose their superstars (assuming Clark moves onto the WNBA after this season).

She's not eligible. To be eligible, at least one of three things has to be true:
  • You have to be four years removed from high school
  • You must turn 22 by the end of the calendar year (she turned 20 in January)
  • You must have your four-year degree (or be scheduled to receive it within 3 months after the draft)
Unless she graduates a year early, she has to wait until 2024.

I watched most of the game and the highlight shots from DEEEP that everyone showed were when they were down 20. No pressure at that point and they started going in so she just kept shooting them. Thought it was fun that Michigan WBB social media kept responding to the post reminding people who won the game. I cannot imagine another good program that would let her shoot those shots. Also remember they only put the ones on social media that she makes - we don't get highlights of the misses.

I would think with a Dowling HS education (College Credit courses) and summer school that she could graduate next year if she wanted to.
