BYU Postgame Thread

Clones are currently 4-0.

UMKC
Auburn
UNI
Iowa
Diamond Head Classic (Up to 3 games)
Northern Illinois
Texas Tech
Baylor
Oklahoma

Could be - COULD be - 15-0 (3-0) when KU comes to Hilton.

Let's hope so, but Iowa will be tough...even at Hilton. Plus, there are some good teams in the Hawaii tourney too. I think ISU can probably pretty easily get through their first 2 games there, but after that it could be a challenge.

Holy Crap. Just finished watching the game on DVR without knowing the results. I'm now a nervous wreck and I think I lost 10 years off my life.

Almost turned it off in the 1st, glad I didn't.

Ejim... can't do that man!

Didn't think the flagrant 2 was intentional. Looked like the BYU guy had an awkward attempt at a pump fake and Kane fell for it. Plus... You don't just go out there and cat scratch a guy in the face up five in the closing minutes. Got him in the eyes good though.

Georges was clutch again in the end. Awesome to see, because he looked a little lost early.

End was ugly... no doubt about it. But we had a pretty fresh crew out there in the end. Glad they could hold on.

Holy crap. Did I already say that?

I am an old man, and I should be over this game already. I should have gone to be hours ago. What is wrong with me?

Just watched the game via DVR. What a GREAT win. This win, if we keep winning, will look great for us in March (knock on wood). BYU is a great team with a big crowd at every game. The fact we went in there and won that game speaks volumes so far. I think last year's team at this time of year would have lost that game, no offense to them. I fully expect BYU in the NCAA tournament if they continue to play well and they will be dangerous. Props to them.

Have to give Niang credit. He played great, and the whole team too. Pulled that one out in the end and awesome defense at the end by Edozie. WHEW

On another note, did anyone else think the refs were rather whistle-happy this game? It seems like they called every little thing for some reason. Maybe I'm wrong. Not important but a few times were kind of weird.

BTW, 9th in the RPI. LOL, means nothing this early in the season but still. Top 10! ;-)

Anybody know when the guys start to release bracketology? I know it doesn't matter right now, but I'm curious to see where they all have us seeded. I remember seeing Lunardi having us in a play in game(IDGAF what the really call them, play in games are what they are), and Jerry Palm shockingly had us as a 10 seed. I'm pretty sure we are going to be a lot higher up then that.

The refs were horrible. They would favor BYU heavily, and then right when it would start to get horribly obvious they would switch to ISU, and they did that until maybe 3:00 left on the clock, where everything suddenly became a foul.

Who was that we had on the court at the end? Niang, Edozie, Bluford, Morris, and Long? If anyone told me we would win a tight game at that place with that bunch on the floor down the stretch, I would have thought they were nuts.

Also, what's the deal with SDW? Is he hurt or does he not merit action in these games?

It was clearly a beautiful block by Edozie but I thought for sure they would call a foul in their efforts to give them the game down the stretch.

It was a great game, Niang was in beast mode that's for sure. Controversies aside, several byu fans shook my hand on the way out and were very complimentary of the team. Tough, hard fought road win to be sure.

Okay good, so I wasn't imagining things. That's kind of what I saw too. There were a few fouls on us where I was really wondering where the foul was. Like the one on Hogue. I understand that it looked like a big flop on Hogue (I think he got knicked on the mouth, but he sold it), but even so, I don't understand how that's even a foul on him. I mean the big center swung his elbows, barely hit Hogue as Hogue was standing there and they still called him for a foul. If anything, it should be the other way around if you're a ref.

Since you were at the game, another thread mentioned some chatter that the N-word was thrown around at Ejim. Did you hear anything like that?

I didn't hear anything like that at all, and honestly given the interactions I had with those around me it would shock me if it did happen and wouldn't have been self policed pretty quickly.

Really hope Mika's okay. Kid has a great future ahead of him. Loved the drago comparisons.
