Bulaga (sp?) out???

If this is true that really hurts Iowa - Bulaga was going to be the guy to help get that line in sync with Calloway and Vandevelde returning this game. The Hawks could have some OL issues like they had against UNI - if this is true.

Offensive line is Iowa's strongest core, and defensive line is ISU's weakest core.

I have a problem using excuses for why a team won or lost a game. If Iowa State dominates the line of scrimmage without Bulaga, than obviously the other lineman aren't/weren't pulling their weight as well. I still believe turnovers and special teams will determine the outcome of this game, not one player being out.

I guess I agree and disagree at the same time.

There are times where a players injury actually does affect the outcome of a game and there are times when it doesn't.

An example of when it does: Bradford going down in the first half with OU up against BYU

An example when it doesn't: Ted Ginn going down after the opening kickoff return for a TD against the Gators

The execution from that strong OL was lacking in the first half of the UNI game and losing the strongest part of that line plus adding a guy who is coming off suspension and another who is coming off of surgery still makes me think that we could see some major miscues and first game jitters. I will agree that ISU's DL is pretty awful, but I could see a lot of blitzes coming at Stanzi in the first half.

And if you lose

Then congratulations?

I am sure parts of our fan base will have excuses too. It comes with the territory.

But when a fan base uses the excuse that they would have won a 23-3 defensive thrashing if Tate had not knocked himself out of the game. Well...you might be a Hawkeye.

Just what ISU needs, a built in excuse for Hawk fans if they lose. I would prefer he play.

Lets give BYU a little credit, they were getting pressure on Bradford and putting it to them with or without him in. Bulaga will help Iowa if he plays but wont cause them to lose if hes out

The best player on the field for either team and he plays left tackle.

In the minds of hawk fans he is the best. To everyone else he is just overrated and his stock is inflated due to the ranting of the jihadic wing of hawk fans.

So...let me get this straight...losing arguably the best WR on the OSU offense that year did not affect the outcome, and losing Bradford did affect the outcome of the OU game? Hypocritical if you ask me, because I don't think losing Bradford was that big of a deal to the talent on the OU offense.

Losing Bulaga is going to affect Iowa...in some way. Will it be a game changer, who knows.
