Bulaga (sp?) out???

Dude, if Iowa's entire starting OL was out the Hawks would have 200 total yards maximum. They couldn't get any rhythm on offense and the ISU offense would own time of possession big time, eventually wearing down Iowa's defense. 30-7 would be about right, and maybe a little kind to the Hawks.

We havent scored a TD against Iowa since 2006... that was a LONG time ago.. What makes you think that this offense can score 30 on Iowa, when we barely hit 34 on NDSU? :biglaugh:

iowa's defense is way to slow to stop iowa state from scoring at least 30. will isu's defense be good enough to stop iowa from scoring 10, probably not, but by the 4th quarter most isu players should be thinking about the next game at kent state instead of worrying about a big 10 team that probably won't finish in the top 5 in the coference. i say isu 37, iowa 19. a weird score but all iowa-isu games are a little weird.

Do you really think we saw the whole playbook against NDSU? Not to mention it was the first game in a brand new system. Not saying they will score 30 but its possible.

I think our O is a lot better than last year. A lot better. It took Seneca Wallace and a miracle to score 30 on Iowa. That defense is really good. Better than most people think.

Hopefully we can find a way to neutralize their D line.

Plus your offense will have to be on the field to score.

I'm betting Coach Herman's plan to neutralize their D-line is going to be by making sure Austen gets rid of the football quickly and doesn't give them time to get in the backfield. Read 1, Read 2, Read 3...no one open? Start running forward with the ball. Quick slants, hot routes, etc. etc.

Damn, someone supposedly "in the know" at HR is saying that Bulaga has a heart problem that's keeping him out of the game Sat.

Either this is an elaborate hoax or a bad situation that you hope the kid works through to preserve his health.

If it's a hoax, it's in pretty bad taste to spread a serious rumor like that.

Wow. That's horrible if true, and almost as bad if made up.

That's a really tough spot for several reasons.

1) You don't want that kind of rumor. There's no class in life-threatening stuff.

2) You don't want to be the guy that says "Well, I hope it's true," because nobody should be wishing heart illness on anybody.

I'm not cheering for a possible injury for the guy anyway, but that would be verrrry serious.

You mean like this rumor that was started the week before the Iowa game last year?

Nooo, Hawk fans wouldn't do that.:jimlad:

I hope Buluga will play.. NEVER want a college kid to get hurt.

You really wonder what the deal is... some say heart? some say knee? sounds like this could easily be a bad rumor. I sure hope not.

Gotcha. Well, nonetheless I am fairly certain Iowa St. will not hold Iowa below 20 points, let alone 7. Maybe I am overestimating this team in the fact that I believe they will make a huge improvement over last week. This game should show exactly what kind of season Iowa will have.

Let's not go crazy. Win or lose, that won't be the case.

True. You would think.

Although it's not like Iowa was tearing up college football the 2 years before the arrival of SG. Hopefully without him they dont resort to that for their sake.

I don't know if you were listening to KXNO earlier, but when M&M were talking about it, Matt mentioned that Iowa might have Bulaga dress out just to keep the ISU coaching staff guessing. Ken responded saying that based on the information he had, that might not even be possible.

Basically what I'm saying is who knows? If you don't hear anything tomorrow (statement from KF, press release, whatever) we'll all find out when Iowa's offense takes the field.

I was thinking more along the lines of how Iowa or ISU plays in this game doesn't dictate how the rest of the year is going to go. Iowa hardly looked like world beaters against ISU last year, but ended up pretty respectable.

No, I wasn't listening. I'm just getting info from the free HR site, so who knows if it's accurate or not. The reason there may be something to it, is because it would be a pretty crappy thing to do to make up a serious problem like this.

I agree that KF won't want to give out any info until gametime, so that's when I think we'll know for sure, too.
