Bubu Appealing

Here is the link to the Ames Trib article about it:

Men

After reading this, it says that the decision by the Regents can be reviewed by an Iowa District Court. It may be that this is the best option for Bubu if he wants to pursue any other legal action too.

Only thing that sucks is he'd have to wait ANOTHER half semester probably to play (conditioning and all that hoopla)

Good for him though. I'm pretty familiar with the story and have heard from both sides. Bubu should be playing on the team, he's just been screwed over twice.

As if Bubu hasn't been staying in shape.

This is beyond basketball as this point, I assume. Even with a favorable outcome, I would think the chances of Bubu ever playing again are next to zero. What is the likelihood that Hoiberg would reinstate Bubu with the university boss having already weighed in? I can't imagine that would go over well.

Appealing to who? Is it the Board Of Regents? If so, has the BOR ever reversed a University President's ruling in anything similar to this....I'm guessing no.

I would be surprised if they reversed. It would be too embarrassing for the president.

Well, he wasn't kicked out of school, so the only reason for the appeal is to be re-instated to the MBB team, the way I understand it. So, the Regents will be doing that......not CFH. Now, Fred may not give him much playing time, but then again, if it helps the team.....why wouldn't he? It would be the Regents telling the President he was wrong.....not CFH. Right?

I don't see any reason Hoiberg wouldn't use him like any other player on his bench. Clearly, Hoiberg had no problem playing him last year. Not sure what would have changed between then and now.

The president didn't kick him off the team last year after he was reinstated. That's a pretty big change.

Why would Hoiberg feel the need to punish him further? He's served his time in Hoiberg's eyes, or else he wouldn't have been playing last season. If, that's a big if, he's reinstated then he should be back 100%.

Well, I can tell you this:

When he was suspended indefinitely, he was still allowed to use the teams facilities, and he was, almost daily.

When he was kicked off the team, well, he doesn't get that luxury.

Potentially our 3rd straight season of getting Bubu in time for Big 12 play. This to Fred is like an NBA team picking up a lock down defender before the trade deadline. Fred would gladly welcome him back

Would he? Maybe not. Could he? Sure. Because he is Fred freaking Hoiberg.
