Hilton needs to come back to life, but it is easier said than done. First: JP is placing more emphasis on money than fans that will actually cheer. Yes, he wants (and needs that money) for improving our facilities, but how do you attract people when our beloved James H. Hilton Colesium's prime seats are being populated by stiffs who don't stand, or cheer. Hilton used to be a place people wanted to go, and respected. It seems the only thing they know how to do now is complain in local papers that their coffee is too expensive, or doesn't have a lid, and that the warmups are the wrong color! For the record, Cardinal is closer to burgundy than bright red, and who gives a rat's fuzzy behind about coffee, salads and deli sandwiches. Give us hot dogs, popcorn, Clone Cones and fans who cheer again Mr. Pollard! Cyclone Alley is doing their part, give us fans who respect Hilton Magic again, and not just for the women's games!

UGH... the magic was there Saturday....I had goosebumps most of the game.

players make a few plays at key times.. we win.

we were down by what 17? and get it back to 6 with the ball?

When there is something to cheer about, the place gets loud. Doesn't matter what sport it is. I get so tired of listening to people whine about loud fans.

Saturday was one of the better games for the Magic. The recruits were highly impressed with the atmosphere.

I also thought it was one of the better days for consessions this season. We did have to stand in line, but I felt that the employees finally knew what they were doing.

I am pretty sure Hilton Magic was live and well on Saturday, but we need to put a better product on the court for it to work.

Ticket prices are as low asI can remember. I am not sure anyone cares about coffee. Now Clone Cones! Oh ya!

Hilton Magic is still alive and well, but it can only do so much in helping a team win.

This shows our team has it in them, coming back from 17 down to 6. The fans were loud and Kansas struggled when Hilton was loud. The problem is that the loud must be sustained. We saw Hilton get loud, now it needs to stay loud...

I agree, but to keep it loud, the players have to make plays consistently. Can you imagine if JVB makes the 3 to cut it to 3, the roof would have came off.

Yup...

And yup...

We had about 5 chances to turn that game...and missed every one.

Have people really forgotten what Hilton Magic used to be? Saturday was not Hilton Magic.

Fans used to cheer when the team needed to get picked up. Now fans only cheer when something good happens. It gets just as loud as it used to but not as consistently loud. You can hear crickets during free throws from the opposing team.

Craig Brackins has 42 points and 14 rebounds and there are only 5K fans to cheer him when he gets taken out of the game w/ under a minute left b/c most fans want to get out to their car. It was sad

This.

STOP BLAMING THE FANS!

You sissy-baby-cry-whiners need to figure it out that...

A. Fans are not responsible for losses
B. Hard to cheer when your team continues to lose
C. Hilton was a great atmosphere Saturday and was in fact loud all game.

What about season ticket holders? I know for a fact that many people who have had the same seats for years, have had to be relocated to the balcony because the AD wants more and more money from the fanbase. In their place we have arena circle and parquet sections filled with the noveou riche and stiffs. YES, money is necessary to run an Athletic Department, but maybe those in charge should respect REAL fans too...

Ah, and now we get down to the root of this thread - complaining about the AD.

Carry on...

1. that gives a **** load of money
2. that gives a **** load of cheers

you pick. rarely both come hand in hand.

I am really struggling here to find some relevance. So if these "fans" you talk about weren't being moved we would win more games?

I am pretty sure everyone has the same access to seating as anyone else. It costs more to sit down low. That is life my good friend. I can't buy a BMW for the price of a Pinto, should I start ******** to Bavarian Motor Works about it?

Thanks, at someone here understands the gist of what I am saying..

Were we winning or losing during the best years of Hilton Magic?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Saturday was a very good crowd. No, of course it wasn't some of the best environments Hilton has had. And we're also enduring some of the not-so-great years of basketball in Hilton as well.

That's the real "gist" of it.

Hilton Magic is on an iron lung right now, and nothing Pollard does can change that. When the program starts winning again Hilton will start rocking again. No sooner.

Right. Reminds me of the Hitch "show me the magic" moment.

ISU MBB needs to come 90, well come 10.

We're sure as hell not going the whole 100...

You mean like selling $100 season tickets? There are options for everybody. By the way I'll probably buy the $100 season tickets for the rest of my life and will only sit in the parquet on special occassions. Like everything else in life you pay for what you get.

I think the only thing that will bring Hilton Magic back to life is a coaching change. I know, I'm horrible for saying that, but it's time to start looking hard at what exactly McD has done here. Very little. He's not the coach we thought we were getting, period. I hope JP has the bits to make the tough call sooner rather than later.
