Breece Hall [Good News]

Yeah, how ridiculous is it that 247 has him as a 4*, #9 RB in the nation in his class and #1 in Kansas but Rivals has him as a nationally unranked 2*. Just another example of how bad Rivals sucks.
The Rivals Guy in Kansas liked the post. I'm sure his rating will be generously boosted with their next update. With the season he had, I'd say 5.7 is probably what they'll give him.

Breece Hall is going to be a 6'1 220 lb RB at ISU that has breakaway speed.

When is the last time that happened? (no offense, Woody).

No...Kene is a home run type back not every down back.

I can see both freshman backs being utilized a lot next year.

Don't sleep on Croney. I think he is better than people realize as a do-it-all and more of a workhorse. He would be the every-down guy, with Kene the change of pace. But more evenly split than SuperDave and Kene this year.

Croney is a good RB and should see some time, but I'd be surprised if Hall/Brock aren't slight upgrades right away.

Croney may be the best at getting what’s there, but unfortunately we’ve need guys more apt at getting what’s not there.

I wonder if we’d have success in a two rb set. No offense to receivers like Jones, but anything to get those guys more touches and keep the defense from selling out on DM is worth a try imo.

Kene is the guy next year if DM leaves imo

Kene is going to play a ton, but I know this staff wants a bigger back to pound the ball more. There will be a lot more committee than with Montgomery, unless one of these guys forces them to play him almost exclusively. Similar to when Montgomery took over as a freshman. The staff knew he had "it" right away.

DM will be a first-rounder. He needs to leave.

He'll definitely have a chance to be. But there will always be teams reaching in the first round and surprises. I think DM goes in the 2nd round at the highest. Teams are devaluing the running back position unless it's a guy like Barkley and will wait until the 2nd or 3rd to pull the trigger, even on a good back. Kamara is a breakout talent at RB and he went in the 3rd.

Barring injury no way DM is back. CMC will prob make him go. Very weak RB class. He will go top 2 rounds

Yep, let him go make some money. He did more for the culture of the program in a year (late night work outs, et al) than perhaps anyone ever.

David is a unique kid that may very well be inclined to come back and finish what he started (both academically and athletically).

But I think the bolded is true.

My expectations next year are that the season will start with a committee, with either Croney or Kene being the "starter", but both of them, Gray, Brock and Hall all getting some touches (depending on injuries, etc).

Then when Brocktober rolls around, one of the true freshmen (Jirehl Brock in my opinion) emerges as "the guy" and takes over the starting position.

That’s quite the committee. And with Purdy, Mitchell, and Dean a lot of running ability.

Fingers crossed the OL is better and we get creative in getting multiple RBs on the field at the same time.

I tend to think that there is a reason that Lang was the starter when DM was out . Of all the guys on the roster currently, he seems to have the most complete toolbox.

I think he takes a huge step up next year if/when Montgomery leaves.
