Brackins and his future

How good of a chance is there that Brackins stays around for at least next year? What are some reasons that he should stay/go?

If Brackins is a current lottery pick (which I think he is) he would be crazy to stay. It will be very hard for him to duplicate his stats from this season. His stock is very hot right now. He could work on getting a little stronger and improve his three point shot but he is IMHO definitely NBA ready right now. I really hope he comes back and takes ISU to the Big Dance, but sadly I think tonight was his final game as a Cyclone. He will go down as one of my all-time favorites. He was a very good representative of Iowa State University in his time in Ames.

I wouldn't blame him either way. He could have lower stats for a better team and improve his stock a lot. If he becomes stronger, a better defender and a better outside shooter, he could really shoot up.

His stats probably would go down if we are a better team.

probably 3+ new threads per day....im sure it will continue until he declares and tests the waters. at that point it will get real intersting with rumors he hired an agent or was seen driving around in a nice car

Just saw on WOI 5 interview with DG that Craig wants to talk to his dad about it since **** Garret played in the league for a few years, DG ended the interview with, "I hope he stays though"

Some have suggested that his best option is probably to declare without signing an agent. He can find out what his real worth is and if it isn't where he expects it to be he can return to Ames and try and raise his value.

Re: Brackins

Good thinking.......I was thinking we were due for another one.

I heard from a friend of a dentist that he has decided to work for John Deere selling lawn equipment. For what it's worth.......:jimlad:

Brackins offense is NBA ready but his defense needs some serious work ... after tonights performance I have a bad feeling (I'm glad for him though) that he is NBA bound.

Seriously, I don't think he is ready. I can't believe no one has said it. He isn't NBA ready on offense. He will get half his shots put back in his face. Another year with McDermott would help him out a lot. Don't get me wrong, he is great. His shot where he turns to his right and barely jumps won't be effective in the NBA. He needs to stay, get bigger, and improve his moves to be a lottery pick. NBA doesn't develop players, college does that, if he stays he will be top 10 next year, 2nd round if he leaves now and maybe in the league for 3 years. Just my opinion, but I think he needs more time.

How did he do tonight anyways? I didn't watch the game, almost forgot we played tonight.

I stand by my previous comments that it's likely in his best interests to go and I think he will in fact leave.

If so, '09/'10 ISU MBB should be rather "fun".

He played well tonight...in fact...this season..:notworthy::notworthy:

U may be right in saying his best interest is to leave...but I am holding firm on my belief that if he stays...he is a LOCK in the lottery next year...catch 22....

take the money now, and very easily fade out...or stay another year and DOMINATE the BIGXII ...tough decision..:confused:

Not to say CB would pan out like Fizer..but I c A LOT of the same similarities...

Imagine 1 more yr under Greg, and CB WILL be a beast!! Stronger, faster... Coach has a knack for bigmen and Craig would most certainly benefit from 1 more year under his tutelage :wink: C Jiri....
