The guys that stand the whole game, that are loud about standing the whole game, that are obstinate about standing the whole game and that think that standing the whole game makes them feel like they are better fans than anyone else - they're just attention whores. It's just about "look at me". They're jackasses. Nobody gives a ****.

Obviously, stand when it makes sense. Interact with the game. Yell and scream when it matters. I ******* do. But you standing the whole time does nothing for the team. It means absolutely nothing. It's a cry for attention. It's pathetic.

I don't know what magical powers it is that you think you possess, but your track record suggests it's not working. All you are is the most hated person in your section.

Try wearing a lucky shirt.

I can only make it back for a game every few years (live in the south), when I make it back for a game I have childlike enthusiasm. That is why I stand for pretty much the whole game. Also its typically the end of the season when I can make it back (if I can), and its ******* freezing. Standing and being energized helps with that.

Furthermore, you are watching an American sport. You can stand for literally every single second of gameplay and still be seated for the other 70% of the game (commercials, timeouts, reviews, injuries, etc). Get over it.

My 65 yr old parents are in Ft. Myers, Florida and they bought 8 tickets and their parking passes via the Outback Site. I think it's through Ticketmaster. Several ISU alums I know bought all their tickets via Stubhub. If you live within a few hours drive of campus and have season tickets, I can see buying through the school site, but the vast majority of alumni are not season ticket holders and live in other parts of the country.

I see this thread has now (de) evolved to the classic sitting/standing thread. The 2 extremes, never stand, or always stand. As usual, the extremes are each end are incorrect, are very self centered and live in their own world.

Most people would probably agree that you should be standing during key game times and that is great. Most would probably also agree that if you are standing all the time (with the exception of student sections of course) and you are the only one standing you are probably being self centered.

To stand all the time and tell others to watch the jumbotron or pay for better seats is really sad to hear someone advocate for. There is reason at many events they do have varying policies.

Good link. Follow a few simple rules for standing and you are fine.

P.S. The article didn't mention standing for the entire game when you are in or near a student section that does so.

I could sit most of the game or stand. The Drake game, being that it was empty I stood 95% of the time. I walked across the entire east side. On games when there are some large open areas I will go over there just so I can stand without being a nuisance. Other than that I stand on 3rd down and what looks to be a big play. I just try to stay in line with what the other people around me are doing.
