Bowl Situation Thread

Nobody is going to offer anything until tomorrow when the BCS games are set.

True but I get the sense that most discussions are taking place with an assumption of 1 Big 12 team in the BCS.

Fiesta: Oklahoma State
Cotton/Alamo/Insight: Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Baylor (don't know who goes where)
Holiday: Texas
Meineke Car Care: Texas A&M
Pinstripe: Iowa State or Missouri

If MU goes Pinstripe, Iowa State to the Fight Hunger or Military most likely.

I don't care if it is against Iowa State's interest I am rooting for OSU here. They've always been my 2nd favorite Big 12 team.

Be interesting if there is only 1 BCS team and it looking like South Carolina or Georgia going to Cotton who would the be the B12 rep

Don't think that is as cut and dry as some are thinking... we have a decent shot at heading to San Francisco

Not to be picky, but would love to avoid that town if at all possible... just as much as NYC.

Give me San Diego, Tempe, or Houston... or DC or Memphis from the at-large pool.

They're getting embarrassed pretty badly.

Oklahoma
Harris - 10th
USA - 11th
Computer - 5th

TCU
Harris - 17th
USA - 17th
Computer - 18th

Computer isn't going to ding Oklahoma hardly at all (I believe they don't factor margin of victory). You'd need to see Oklahoma drop 2-3 spots below TCU in the Harris and USA today to push TCU above Oklahoma in the BCS.

Agreed, Oklahoma would have the name but the worst record. Baylor would have the best team (my opinion, I know they lost to K-State) and a Heisman hopeful but a tiny fanbase. K-State doesn't really offer anything but would probably be the highest ranked team and a 2nd place finish in the conference.

If I was the Cotton I think I would grab OU. Then if I was Alamo I'd take Baylor. Send K-State to the Insight.

With OU its more Michigan than TCU

How far does Southern Miss move up with their win? If Clemson wins how far do they move up as well could have a say in the atlarge process

Id prefer San Diego, Tempe, or Houston, but San Francisco isnt too bad... averages in the upper 50s this time of year vs low 40s\high 30s in NYC

There are going to be two extra spots....here's the order I think they go in.

1. TCU (automatic - if top 16)
2. Michigan (almost automatic if top 14)
3. OU or KSU. - Will get in if one of these other two above don't qualify.

TCU still needs help. They will certainly pass Wisky if that result holds, but I don't think they jump Georgia or Houston.

Here is a ? what if Clemson wins. Does that get Clemson ahead of Michigan even thou Clemson would qualify anyway if they do jump Michigan and Michigan doesn't make top 14 does the Sugar take VT, KSU or Boise State?

Clemson is 4 and 5 spots back in the polls to Michigan. And 6 back in the computers. They will certainly move up...but I'm not sure if they make the jump over Michigan. They may pass TCU though. If that happens you have Va Tech going for an at large then too though.

If Clemson won, they would get the ACC's spot in the BCS with VT probably claiming an at-large bid since they'll still (most likely) be ranked in the top 10. That "could" stop Michigan from getting a BCS bowl bid.
