Bowl Situation Thread

good point, but then would va tech get one of the remaining at-large bids? i would think that is very likely

Doubtful, Virginia Tech losing the game tonight would drop them out of the top 10 as voters would likely drop them to at least 10-12 (I would hope) and computers already have them at a 10 average and would likely drop to 15 or worse. Would a BCS bowl choose a 10-12 ranked ACC team?

It's possible Clemson would pass TCU with a win over Va Tech.

TCU needs to jump 2 teams. Here are the possiblities...

6. Houston .7399
10. Oklahoma .6710
13. MSU .5369
14. Georgia .5348
15. Wisky .4576
18. TCU .3310

First...the gap between TCU and the rest of these teams is pretty wide if you look at the BCS points rating.

Houston lost to 24th ranked BCS team...won't be killed by either the voters or the computers in my opinion. It seems unlikely they would lose .4000 points.

Oklahoma losing to OSU won't drop them enough because OSU is #3

MSU losing may drop them below TCU, but it would probably need to be a Wisky blowout.

Georgia will not be punished by the computers so the pollsters are really going to have to ding them to make them fall below TCU.

A Wisky loss almost certainly drops them below TCU...the gap is just not big enough.

Cheer for Oklahoma not to get blown out, Wisconsin to win in overtime on a blown call, and Houston not to be punished too bad by the voters. I still like our chances.

Another thing to consider is what happens if OSU blows out OU and pollsters jump them over bama? Then the Sugar takes bama the fiesta is likely to take Stanford with their replacement pick then you have the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar maybe in that order to take WVU, TCU and an atlarge team. Who would the Fiesta take with that pick would be interesting.

Seeing "stuff" on Twitter that Texas is going to the Holiday Bowl. But you have to remember I'm seeing this on TWITTER.

If thats the case, who goes Insight?

Would rather go back to Tempe anyway... this is assuming the Big 12 gets 2 in BCS. If they don't I expect Texas to go Holiday.

It bet a few of the lower bowls will scroll across the screen later tonight.

Not entirely true. We had strong indications about insight a couple years ago by late in the week.

We were only getting 1 BCS team that year no matter what. No Big 12 bowl is going to pick their team until they know who is in and out of the BCS games.
