Bowl or Bust

Are people saying this as fact, or hoping this is true? I think this is more what fans want. It would be bad for JP to put out an ultimatum saying 6 wins or else, but I sure hope he has some set limits in mind, of course taking into account how the team is run and how it looks.

Read the Title of this Thread.

Then why the continual statements that CPR must win 6 games and if he doesn't then he will be fired??? Your statement now directly contradicts that.

Da fuq? My observation contradicts nothing. Yes, I wish CPR had been fired after last season. That doesn't keep me from observing that this situation is driven by economics and possibly loyalty. JP hired CPR. JP is loyal to CPR. People keep buying tickets so there is no financial reason for JP to fire CPR. Q.E.D.

Money....... Not Loyalty. It is all about finances. JP really could care less about loyalty. It is all about the money.

over/under is 3.5 games

he stays with 4 wins. no way we make a bowl game

make sure you attend the UNI and Iowa games if you want to see the SEZ full. if it then goes south, you can probably send your kids to the new corner seats to throw the football around ala the old hillside area

When ISU beats Iowa.....again.......Kinnick Stadium will be emptier than Jack Trice Stadium.

The atmosphere at Jack Trice is going to be awesome this season. Corner seats are cheap seats and will have a lot of season tickets sold in those areas.

Based on the urgency allegedly shown by President Leath in this basketball search (refuted publicly, obviously) there may be some fire under Paul's seat this year. Thank God. That would mean 9-27 over a three year stretch. Far below even the Iowa State average.

Mentioned this in another thread, but starting out 4-0 is almost necessary given this schedule and who the opponents are, and 5-0 is a real possibility given recent matchups with Texas Tech.

I feel like 5 wins and CPR is safe for another year, 4 he probably stays, 3 he probably goes, 2 he gone

I think everything hinges on the SEZ. Huge waste of money in no one wants to sit in it. Are people gonna buy tickets after a 4-5 win season? I don't know...

If Cyclone fans would not buy tickets after a 4 or 5 win season, then Jack Trice Stadium would never have been built. We would still be playing in Clyde Williams Field.

The first five games will the more than likely have the most pressure of CPR's career at ISU. His seat has never been hotter (justifiably) and if they have a slow start (2-3 or worse) there isn't many other wins left on the schedule and he might lose the locker room at that point. If they start stronger and get 3 or 4 wins, getting to a bowl isn't out of the question.
