Odd poll question, but I'm not aware where this came from . Also, some may answer that they've never boiled a hot dog themself, but it is pretty much guaranteed they've eaten one somewhere down the line. eg....concession stands at ball parks, street vendors, church gig's, grandma's house, etc. Pretty much no way of avoiding having eaten a boiled hot dog if you've grown up in this country.

Order from best to worst of ways to cook hotdogs.

1. On a campfire
2. On a grill
3. Stuck of a fork and held over the burner of the stove
4. In mac & cheese
5. In a croissant/pigs in a blanket
6. Boiled
7. Raw
8. Just eat something else
9. In a turd bun
10. Microwaved

In days of yore boiled was the way dogs were cooked unless grilled. Now-a-days the micro had taken that away.

My second favorite way to cook a dog, after grilled, is split lengthwise and fried in a skillet with a little margarine. You get a nice brown grill-like coating. YUM!

yes meandean!!!! Add toast and peanut butter and were talking. Thats the only way I eat hotdogs at home. I don't grill first though, just pan fry

Let me clarify, I boiled the hot dogs to make chili dogs. I only boil hot dogs when I make chili dogs otherwise the grill is the way to go. I should also mention that if you like hot dogs in your mac & cheese DO NOT boil the hot dogs with the macaroni.

I have cooked them in a toaster before, didn't see that on the list.

I agree...pan-fried is very under appreciated.

About the only time I eat boiled hot dogs is if my wife or parents are cooking, and I've learned from past experience to keep my mouth shut or risk ending up with unwanted cooking duties.

Preferably I like them cooked over an open flame, grill pan, or Foreman. Microwave is acceptable if cooked in the bun with a slice of American cheese and wrapped in a paper towel. Otherwise I'm fine with eating straight out of the package.

Especially a grill pan. There almost isn't a meat that I wouldn't cook on our grill pan - steak, chicken, salmon, sausages, hot dogs, kielbasa...

okay, i've been compelled to post for the first time by this hot button topic. The microwave leaves a hot dog lifeless and rigid. A good boil is the way to achieve a lively udder-like dog. and natural casing weiners are the way to go so you get that crunch as you bite in. :)
