Stemming from another thread.
Have you ever boiled hotdogs?
"It's a simple yes or no question. Just say yes and we'll move on."

Yes. Other than grilling, I prefer them that way. Microwave is OK but they are too leathery for my taste.

Wow, can't believe this has garnered its own thread...

Growing up, hot dogs were boiled. As noted in the other thread, I'm not a fan of the boiled hot dog. I prefer grilled. The GF also grew up with boiled hot dogs, but loves them still. Sounds like a war on the home front is brewing

Edit: On the poll above, I answered "No" because I have never personally boiled a hot dog.

If I'm not grilling a hot dog it means I want it done fast, boiling water and then cooking for 5 minutes or whatever is not fast. Microwave *******.

Always had them boiled as a kid. When I grew up I moved on to the microwave. I have never looked back.

Didn't say it was the best way to cook them.

In days of yore boiled was the way dogs were cooked unless grilled. Now-a-days the micro had taken that away.

My second favorite way to cook a dog, after grilled, is split lengthwise and fried in a skillet with a little margarine. You get a nice brown grill-like coating. YUM!
