Blythe is waived

I actually think he still has a shot. I hope Minnesota gives him a look, and think he could be quite useful in the red zone.

hmmm can't get the video to show up right. help please

So...going back to the redzone post.....I don't see why he would be good in the redzone. Here is what I see in Blythe. He is slow...he would only be effective in the redzone b/c he wouldn't be effective anywhere else b/c it requires speed. Not surprised on this one at all.

I don't disagree...but I'd still like to see the Bears pick him up. At least he's not 140 years old like Booker, Brandon Lloyd makes Blythe look like a workhorse, Mark Bradley can't stay healthy for two consecutive games and Hester is a work-in-progress, at best, as a WR. Other than that, the Bear WR's are playmakers...

No one is going to carry a guy on their roster who might come in and make one or 2 plays a season.

Exactly.

I guess for those that are a bit surprised by this, ya'll haven't exactly been watching a ton of ISU FB the last couple years.

Todd is a good receiver, but not great. I firmly believe he could have been great - but for various reasons, it did not happen.

Agreed, you cannot teach 6'5".

I know a few people that are 6'5 that could NOT play football.

Blythe isn't a complete player and he's injury prone. I was thinking my Junior year that if he were to bulk up, he could play TE and would be a good red zone target.....

The problem is that Blythe can't block and because he's so injury prone, he probably couldn't handle how physical TE could be.

Really too bad, as he had a lot of potential, and I hope he finds something he can do in his life that makes him happy!

Todd Blythe is injury prone?!?! This is a new development. I know that Ex- ISU WR Montgomery took a cheap shot at Blythe and tore his ACL. Other than that was he ever hurt? Did he ever miss a game due to injury?

I love the Blythe haters on this board. They really know what they are talking about

I wouldn't call Todd injury prone at all. He had the pancreas issue, which is not a football injury. The only other one that I can recall was his ACL before the sophomore season.

He simply didn't develop beyond that year and failed to do the little things right.

Couldn't care less what you call the group that sees Todd for who he is.

He's simply not an NFL caliber receiver. At least today. Perhaps his eyes will open, he'll get a coach that will ride his tail and he'll become what he could be.

But today? Nope.
