Blythe @ Combine Today

If I have said it once, I will say it again, not many people run 4.4's. These are legit times, not high school times where a kid says he ran a 4.35. Running a 4.61 with Blythe's size is very good. Put that in w/ the fact that he can outjump 90% of the WR there and he is getting drafted

I would have liked to see a bit faster. There were some disparities in the times it looked like, some in the 4.3s and some in the 4.6s without a lot in between.

Didn't Seneca run around a 4.5 at the combine?

Seattle times had him @ 4.44 which is fast for a QB

IMO, 40 time is one of the most unreliable predictor of football performance. First, because it is seldom accurate, and second because running 40 yards doesn't measure much that is relevant to the game.

For a guy as tall as Blythe to come in 10th in the 20 yard shuttle is pretty impressive. It shows he has decent change of direction which you would expect from a smaller guy. It also shows that he can stop and start pretty well. I don't think he hurt himself with his combine perfomance and it gives hime roomt o improve at his pro day.

Here is something from the Chiefs page about some of the players they are talking to at the draft.

NFL Combine Notes:</B>

According to our man on the ground at the NFL Combine, the Chiefs spent time with three Big 12 players Friday:

OL Anthony Collins (Kansas) - At the Missouri/Kansas game earlier this year I spoke with one of the KC’s top scouts, who said Collins is NFL ready. In recent weeks his stock has fallen, but that could be fortunate for the Chiefs. He was a first-round lock earlier this offseason, but with the amount of juniors now thrown into mix he'll likely slide to the late second or early third round. The Chiefs have always been high on him, either way.

WR March Henry (Kansas) - Henry stands 6-foot-6 and is reminiscent of another giant NFL receiver – former Eagles great Harold Carmichael. He has good-to-great hands and nice speed, but isn’t as physical as he can be. However, he was the best offensive player at the Texas College All-Star game. I think he's a second day guy, maybe 5th or 6th round. He’d give the Chiefs a presence in the slot.

WR Todd Blythe (Iowa State) - Anyone who has watched him play at Iowa State understands he has a nose for the football and is a playmaker. He's also supremely confident, likening his game to that of Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. He's hoping to run a 4.4 tomorrow in the 40-yard dash. Like Henry, I expect him to be a second-day pick.

It’s clear the Chiefs, who will likely cut both Eddie Kennison and Samie Parker next week, need to upgrade the receiver position. If the season started today Dwayne Bowe and Jeff Webb would be the starters.

The Chiefs are also very high on Kansas State wide receiver Jordy Nelson

Lots of wide receivers to choose from this year. The cockiness comment was interesting.

All recruits are high on themselve Manningham from Michigan was supposed to run a 4.4 or 4.3 according to Eisen and only ran a 4.59 so most recruits talk themself up to get more looks. Same reason why he was a DNP in the Bench press Todd probably just thought im not a RB and this would make me look weak. Its like a job interview you always talk yourself up.

ESPN people today said the combine is worth about 10-20% of the total grade.

They also keep talking about Vince Young scoring 6 on the Wunderlichter Test - that might be why he had the lowest 2007-08 QB rating at about 59.
