Big 12 POY

Hows that L feel?

Couldn't be less of an issue, at least for me. With Embiid back in Lawrence, Tharpe barely playing with his hand bothering him and the Big 12 title long since wrapped up, this game was totally meaningless. I was happy to see the guys show some fight at the end. Wiggins put up big stats on the road against a good team fighting to try to get into the tourney, versus Ejim's 48 which was a ton of points at the end of an easy home win against the worst Big 12 possibly ever. I don't recall a team ever not winning a single game in conference.

It does dump KU down to the #2 seed vs and #1 seed but I don't mind that at all. Their PG play is suspect enough that whatever game they get in the Sweet Sixteen if they get there will be a tough one. And I'd rather them get the #2 seed in the Midwest than the #1 seed in the East. Just need to cheer for Wisconsin to lose down the stretch.

Seven. My bad. The point being that team record has nothing to do with the voting, unless you have a problem with them simply giving it to the best player on the best team. I am pretty sure we all agree that shouldn't be the only factor because then we might have to compare stats in the head to head meetings between ISU and KU:

Wiggins: 23 pts & 13 rebounds per game average in the two games
Ejim: 16.5 pts & 6.5 rebounds per game average in the two games
Kane: 21.5 pts & 5 rebounds per game average in the two games

But that would be silly...

Wiggens will be given conference player of the year.

Kane should be national player of the year.

Then the award would be called Player of the KU-ISU games, and that would be silly...

If Kane and Ejim get first team, I will live with them not getting POY, but would love to see one of them get it.

That's hilarious. Exactly what has he done better than Doug McDermott? He should be the unanimous winner of the award this year.

Kane and Ejim should be locks for 1st team. I think it will be a close race between the three for POY. No result would surprise me. Both ISU players would be worthy of it. I won't complain about the results if any of the three win; just if Smart wins.

That is a winning reply. But troll banning goes through a process. It isn't as if every mod just goes around banning whomever they'd like to.

If I were a mod, I'd ban someone every day just cause I felt like it. Be awesome.

Doug's great but the team plays in triple A.

30 vs. San Diego State and then 23 and 39 against Nova says he's the real deal. No one better in college this year, not by a long shot. Just four games with less than 20 points all year and 10 with 30+. It doesn't matter who you are playing, that's pretty incredible.

So did Ejim hang on to the scoring leader of the conference? Staten had 24 right? It doesn't continue with Big XII tourney games right? I thought I heard Ejim is 1 in scoring and 2 in rebounding. Tack on Academic All-American and it seems obvious he should be considered for jersey retiring in a few years.

Still showing your ignorance regarding Ejim's 48 point game I see.

In conference, Melvin won FG%, Staten was leading scorer (Kane beat out Melvin also). Melvin was second behind Spangler in rebounds.
