***Big 10 Thread***

You're all going to have such a tasty **** sandwich to eat when Iowa goes 9-1 on the back end of the B1G schedule, makes a run in the conference tourney and backdoors into the dance.
It would pretty damn impressive, I'd give them their props. Although the losses in the B1G coming at a Point Diff. of 92 is an insane amount. Only way they make any run is with heightened defensive play, which is a tall task.

Can't see how Wieskamp stays rated that high. My god Muscatine got beat in December 100 - 40 to Bettendorf!! The team is like 7-6 right now. Must be using the Fran McCaffery rotation. It's been working flawlessly for Iowa this year. Breaking him into the system already I see.
Muscatine doesn't much past Wiescamp.

Need to just name this thread schadenfreude and be done with it. :)

Just find it odd that ISU is also having a disappointing season and all they want to do is rip on Iowa for their misfortune.

Why? This was suppose to be ISU's rebuild year. The team has a lot of talent, learning, and getting better. Iowa is just bad. We listened as the fans and media drooled over this Iowa team and how good they are Fran were suppose to be. We have been told this Iowa core is a final 4 team. We have been told for 7 years how good Fran is, yet he hasn't really done anything. Over the last 7 years every time Iowa has had a nice run the media has been gitty over Iowa, at the same time ISU got half the coverage and put together one of the best runs in state history. Hell ISU beat a top 10 team Sat and they get 5 mins of talk on the radio, yet Iowa gets their ass kicked and they get all the talk. It just gets old. Shouldn't we be able to come to an ISU site and rip Iowa?

The only backdooring going on is the salary Fran is paid by the fans.

This is the instate rivals forum, so when you put instate rival and big ten together, what does that give you?
Just looking for accuracy here....it could be the ToE basketball edition thread ....or maybe Fran watch 2018 or some such.

BIG 10 thread is just misleading and lacks pizazz....

Just trying to help.

That's the thing with Fran. He's spotty at best when it comes to developing talent. Basabe, Ogelsby, Clemmons, Gesell, Woodbury. These were big minute guys by the time they were done, but you can make an argument that their impact on the stats didn't increase by all that much. Some growth, but not much really jumps off the stat sheet.
Olaseni was his biggest miss in development if you ask me. During those years if there was one player outside of Marble I wish ISU had, it was him by leaps and bounds. He was better than Woodbury, why he didn't get the minutes is only obvious if Fran is the coach...

Olaseni? He was extremely raw when he got to Iowa and made a lot of progress in his four years. I wouldn't label him as a miss developmentaly....if anything he might have made the most strides of any of Frans players.

Yet with those flaws like a fly to the light you are here.

He did; however I believe he should of been the feature vs Woodbury. (more minutes/starts)

With minutes come development. I think he had a lot more headroom in the development department.

Unless there are more comments different from what I have read, Fran didnt exactly say that:

Q: You played Dom Uhl quite a bit more on Saturday as well as Brady Ellingson. What sort of contributions do you expect from them moving forward?

McCAFFERY: It is really important because we don’t have a lot of depth in the backcourt, so we need Brady to play well. We played Dom essentially at the two spot and that’s a tremendous value because during the course of his career we have played him at the three, four, and five. He is versatile enough to do that and he also knows the plays well enough to play them. He is a smart player and that gives us more depth moving forward from a guy who knows how to move the ball and defend perimeter guys.

Just find it odd that ISU is also having a disappointing season and all they want to do is rip on Iowa for their misfortune.

1. Over the last 8 years, Iowa State has had a more successful season than Iowa. Every single year.

2. After so much success, often teams need to rebuild. We do. We accept it.

3. Iowa has had consistently worse seasons than us, but have required far more rebuilds. This season, they should have clearly been better than us. They are not.

4. The media in this state gushed over Iowa.
