I would guess Metcalf is who they are keeping an eye on. Hardline Hawks were clamoring that Mark Perry was this wrestling god who was the next big thing. Was supposed to be next coach at Illinois but is at Iowa now. Does iowa become Nebraska if they accept almost titles for a couple more years? With so few teams, there is a monster difference between top four and 8-9th place.

I doubt as long as Barta is there he will make any changes. Perry is another one to watch out for no doubt.

I don't see it from Perry. I think the bloom left the rose on him at Illinois so he jumped ship to try to get it back. With the crop of studs that came after him (Burroughs, Varner, metcalf and such) his legacy is being in the Smith family and he is the former pretty girl who has been passed by.

I was thinking these same thing but this MSU scandal thing and the scrutiny Izzo has come under could actually work in their favor....circle the wagons and win one for coach type of thing. College sports is weird in that way....

See, and I can understand looking at it from that point, but where do they have just a really good win? Lost to Duke, beat Carolina (who may fall out of top 25).
Losing to Duke is 100% forgivable, and even tOSU but I look at the rest of the schedule and nothing shines to me.
