Best thing Cyclones could do now is ...

CMC has a strange structure to his coaching staff, with neither coordinator also having a position responsibility I think. Last year it was no OC, this year it was no ST coach. I don't think that they have room for another coach on the staff. Probably the best move would be to make Manning the OL coach and the OC, and hire a special teams coach.

We need a new special teams coach, whoever that may be. It’s embarrassing to see us play scared instead of aggressive on special teams.

On this note, anyone who includes a GIF of our fair-catch fiasco against Iowa needs a ban, and probably much, much worse.
That play alone is the poster child for needing a special-teams coach.

This is some next level trolling, but in all seriousness, it’s not Campbell’s style (right or wrong) to hire random individuals he has no past with.

Not random at all. CMC and Sean Snyder spent time together as opponents, at coaches meeting, and likely other places. I actually thought Sean would go to ISU when Bill was let go. I said that here at the time. I've seen them in ongoing conversations before games. It's a very logical move.

I'm pretty sure that Manning is the RB coach as well as OC.

They don't have room for another coach right now. They hired an additional defensive coach and the ST coach last year moved on.

It's almost as if the staff surrendered to not having any type of return game this year. We had 22 kick returns and 8 punt returns. Our opponents had 54 and 14, respectively. We have a number of guys who are plenty capable of being effective returners; Kene, Lang, Jones, Milton, etc. I wonder what factored into this decision?

Who would make sure bill stayed away from the sunlight? Notice how they didn’t show him on TV until after the sun went down?

No thanks on that Fran hot head wannabe.

I haven't watched the game DVR yet. So, I didn't know if Bill had some TV time or not. Whatever, I don't think that affects Sean taking a job elsewhere unless he's decided to stay with the family here. He's making $250k for doing analyst work for Klieman.

Kene would be one of the best kick returners in the nation if he was given the chance. Special teams has been so bad that we do need to bring someone in. I'm sure there is a coach that can be replaced. I think we have two secondary coaches - one for corners and one for safeties. That's not necessary. Maybe keep McDonald and replace the other guy?
