Best ISU Dunk Ever?

Jeff Grayer once went right at the defender. The defender didn't move so Grayer just jumped, spread his legs and went right over the guy on his way to the dunk. THAT was the best ISU dunk ever.

I was at that game...awesome dunk!!

Are you including game changing in the criteria?

If not my vote goes to Gilstrap posterizing KU's Aldrich twice in one game.

To me the fact that he was able to do that twice is one game on the same player is something.

I do love Clark's dunks. Clark gets straight 10's in showmanship.

Just watch rahshon that whole play. simply amazing

Terrence Allen had one at Nebraska in the early 80's. I still remember Pete Taylor announcing that the "six footer took off and smashed it through!" It broke open a close game and the Clones won something like 68-51 in the Devaney Center. I remember that NU had Ponce and Stan Cloudy at the time.

It was a dunk that changed a game. Nebraska played like they didn't want to lose and ISU just took it to them. The crowd left 10 minutes into the second half. They had better players but the ISU team that night didn't feel like losing. They were high flying and scrambling for every loose ball.

It was supposed to be yet another loss on the road but turned into a blow-out win. Gotta love college sports.

Didn't see that game (and, by extension, the dunk) but might that have been '84? I recall ISU winning @ Nebraska that season — lost three Big 8 games at home and didn't win any other road games that season, that's why I'm thinking that's the game.

Clark dunk against Virginia. We all lost our minds after it, never forgot that. This year I expect even better ones.

I have never jumped so high in my life as I did in the student section after that dunk. The whole place just went NUTS jumping and screaming. I think even RC was like ""

Some of the Grayer dunks blur together for me.

The one I remember most clearly, he got the ball inside, had two defenders basically draped on his shoulders and he went straight up for a jam.

Makes me feel really old having to describe dunks, as opposed to posting video clips.:twitcy:

This gets my vote also.
Wasn't that the Big 8 Championship game against Kansas?

Did he put the shake n bake move past Manning (on baseline) then over Greg Dreiling 7' at the hoop... That was the sweetest one to date in the 80's

Kelvin Cato has some mad hops
Rahshon was absolutely awesome
I see Royce bringing some nice cross over skills along with his big body & dont think many will try to challenge him...

Cant wait for this season to start...

Even the the "dunk" may not have been the greatest. I have to go with clarks vs. virginia. Just the whole play was amazing. Stinson blindly throwing the ball to blaylock then the no look behind the back pass then the finish by Clark. It was sportscenter #1 cant get much better than that.

Best I've seen live: Gilstrap over Aldrich (twice)

Best series of events: Clark vs. UVa

Best Dunk: Grayer vs. Kansas

Rashon has had some sick dunks, that kid could could fly. One of my favorites, most likely cuz i was there, was last year vs Colorado on senior night when Godfrey threw it down and just hung there for a while and go a T, wasn't that great of a dunk but Hilton just went nuts!

Best play ending in a dunk I have ever seen in my life.

For his size, Terrence Allen was one of the best dunkers I've ever seen. Did not see the Nebraska game but I seem to remember some sort of half court, throw in, alley-oop to TA that was amazing. Great hops - similar style and athleticism to Rahshon Clark - only shorter.

Maybe not the best, but perhaps the most meaningful was Hornacek's inbound to Elmer Robinson who slammed it home against Michigan in the NCAA tourney.

Im a little surprised we are 3 pages in and no mention of Barry Stevens dunk on Missouri.

Not only was it from far out...it was high and was off his right foot left handed. Aside from his winning jump shot clip, thats a close second.

The photo from it was his framed picture that was up at hilton his senior year.....that ahem......may or may not have found its way into my possession :)
