It did.....was less than 10 minutes and no finale. Waiting for more information but I'm guessing they probably had an electronic malfunction of some kind. No one knew for sure what to do when they just stopped. Everyone waited a few minutes, then started getting up to leave. It was really lame. Definitely hitting up Racoon Park or Waukee next year.
I wasn't there, but some friends of mine said Urbandale's show completely sucked this year. What's the word?
I went to the ICubs game Thursday night and thought they put on a really good show.
We stuck around and could see the Yankee Doodle Pops show and I thought the ICubs show was much better.
For a town of 600 people, Grand Mound usually has a pretty good show.
This past Saturday's show was just over 30 minutes, and the appeared to have 4-6 platforms on the lake they were using as launching sites. Granted, it is no Washington DC, but I'd put their show up against almost anyone's.
I love that there's going to be an "investigation" and that they haven't heard back from the fireworks company yet. Uhhh, weren't they right there doing the show? Ya know, in your city? Where you could talk to them while it was happening?
When I was a kid (it was still considered the best around) they had one barge they shot from. Now they have 3, plus I think there were 3 other pre-staged rigs for the finale. These were closer to the shore and the way the wind was blowing we got a fair amount of ash on us.
I will say, as good as they were, 30+ minutes was too much for a kid 2 hours past his bed time![]()
