Best Eats in Memphis (so far)

Ribs at Central really good.
Ribs at B.B. Kings good, bread pudding very good, fried pickles and catfish very good, bands excellent.
Breakfast at the Graceland cafe (only because we had a 3 hour wait to get in) not good.
Local Ghost River beer, good stuff.

Gus' chicken was excellent. fried green tomatoes, also excellent.
Johnny G's potato salad and greens are probably some of the best side dishes I've ever ate
One of the teams from the BBQ competition at the stadium let us try a beef tenderloin they had made. don't know if I've had a piece of meat with a flavor that unique/delicious before.

I honestly don't think i had a bad meal the entire time in memphis. I would go there again just to eat

Went to Soul Fish Cafe near the stadium for lunch before the game. Outstanding catfish, and the mashed potatoes were a dream. The hush puppies were excellent, too, and I'm not a big fan of hush puppies.

Corky's was the best BBQ. Went to Central's....wasn't horrendous, but the brisket was a bit tough, and I think the slaw was more of a vinegar base.

After going to Memphis I would have to say Corky's was the best BBQ.

Rendezvous probably had the atmosphere with it being a BBQ dive and located in an alley.

Hueys (downtown) had the best burger and a really cool atmosphere.

Also Germantown Commissary was good as well. Went there before the game and it was pretty good.

Big fan of The Commissary. Thanks to whomever on this board that gave it props or I wouldn't have known about it. Particularly loved the ribs and slaw, but it was all good.

Count me in as a fan of the Commissary as well - if you are ever in Germantown, TN you should absolutely check it out.

We ate at, 3 main places, BB King's, Alfred's and the Bardogg ( Breakfast), the breakfast at the Bardog was awesome, for a little hole in the wall off Beale ST, had a breakfast burrito and a bloodie, both were awesome. The 2 bar'b q places, I got pretty much the same thing, ribs and half chicken, I like BB's more, also tried both the ghost river and the BB Blues Beer, Ghost River was awesome, I drank it most of the vaca.....

The slaw was good at Rendezvous, a little kick to it. Ribs yummy too.

one "NO" vote for the Pizza Inn in Blytheville on Sunday night. Give me a totinos, horrible...

the waitress asked if we were from Texas. we all had clothes on that had "IOWA STATE" on the front...

Got gas in Blytheville on way down, distinct odor of hemp. Another dude filling up while smoking a regular cigarette also. Nice.

I had red beans and rice at the Rum Boogie Cafe with a beer. Wonderful meal. Central BBQ near the Tn campus had good brisket on Saturday night. Saw some real dives in town when my brother took a wrong turn and asked his Tom Tom for reroute.

Those can be some of the best places. I saw one called "Momma's Soulfood" that probably would have been great.

I wasn't quite sure what the restaurant was called.. But they advertised fried chicken and waffles. Any good? Also Dyers on Beale was on Man vs Food

We did Miss Polly's on Beale New Years Eve...and it was REALLY good. I had the fried chicken and waffles which was to die for. Also, the best fried pickles I've ever had. Love Peace Chicken Grease!!!
