Nevertheless, 99 yards and a TD is hardly getting shut down.
It is when you're talking about Justin Blackmon.

Okay...
He held these receivers to:
Kendall Wright-68 yards
Marvin McNutt-61 yards
Mohamed Sanu-62 yards
Come on. Even you have to say that pick over LJ is ridiculous.![]()
Yes but the 4 years before he was a corner. TerRan Benton played mostly corner too, yet he played safety his senior year.
No he didn't. Once Reeves was ready, Benton was moved. He really only played a true corner for two years.
I lost track of my Bernstine's. Sorry about that.
Well it is funny. It's becoming a joke.![]()
This is very funny! The funny part is the mighty Kirk had 6 draftees, but basically the same results.
He only played safety his senior year. He was the nickle back his junior year.
So, like I said, he played corner for two years. What he did his junior year was not playing CB.
Nickel is the 3rd CB. You have to be kidding right?
Yes but the 4 years before he was a corner. TerRan Benton played mostly corner too, yet he played safety his senior year. No, his senior year he was exclusively a strong safety.
I'm guessing there just isn't much of an NFL market for 5'8 corners who run slower 40's than most defensive ends.
Some of you are being ridiculous with the "Baylor couldn't throw on us", and "LJ shut down Justin Blackmon" statements. RGIII had 210 yds on only 30 throws. Blackmon had 100 yds on 10 catches, including one where he jumped right over LJ. LJ made some very nice plays on Blackmon 1-on-1 and I sure think he deserved to be drafted by the 6th round, but shutting down is going too far.
Oh I see where you're coming from now. Regardless he was drafted based upon his work at safety.
