Baylor

Baylor on Offense is a very poor rushing team.

They also give up a good number of sacks, although we are 117th in Def sacks. Although it is interesting if we are dropping 7-8 in coverage how we seem to give up WAY too many QB Scrambles for big chunks on 3rd downs.

It killed us at Ohio.
It was a problem vs Okie St and at OU (although containing Gabriel is not an easy task).
Cincy didn’t do much against us, but Jones converted 3-4 1st downs on long scrambles.

Please contain the pocket, spy the QB, and grab some INTs from this inaccurate and less than Mobile QB

I trust Heacock coming off a bye week to have our guys dialed in.

Baylor on defense has been getting gashed by big plays, both on the ground and in the air. Look for the Cyclones to cash in on more than a few big chunk plays. 30+ yards. Get into the 2nd level on runs and hit those WR’s in stride on those quick hitters and crossing routes. Can Higgins have another big day? You bet!

Trust Heacock will keep them in check enough, maybe a couple of turnovers and our offense to be explosive enough to win.
Hopefully Abu is back healthy. Could have an explosive run or two

i have this gross feeling that shapen is going to throw all over us

I understand Baylor is down, but I'm a little surprised at some of the extreme confidence in this thread. I'd say the game is a pick em myself. I'd feel a lot better if it was a home game.

Too much comparing scores going on like things aren't very different week to week in college football.

Baylor is 3-4, ISU is 4-3 and things in Waco get weird. It's not exactly a sure thing.

I hear what you're saying, as it always surprises me too, but it shouldn't as I've observed the craziness here for far too many years. The common theme I notice on CF is that the loudest / most frequent posters get really up, excited and overconfident when the team wins a few games, and then the loudest / most frequent posters after the team loses a few games get really down on the team and demoralized. Hah. The answer lies in the middle. The team is not as good, or as bad as so many think.

To regress to the mean, the team should probably lose this game. Anything is possible though, and it strikes me as a pretty evenly matched game. Just enjoy the ride. Hopefully they can pull this off setting up a potentially magical November with so much to play for.

I think we are capable of winning, but Waco has not been kind to us. I hope we pull out a win and set ourselves up for a big homecoming matchup against KU.

Lots of truth here.

Too many that just don't understand that the way a team is at one point in the season isn't just going to automatically stay that way.

Even the blue bloods hit ruts or can't get right. It's a big reason why sports is so interesting.

I'm glad they struggle to run the ball. Hopefully our secondary can slow down their pass attack. But every game from here on out is going to be tough. I think we're in them all but I think there will be a lot of close games both ways.

We may win or we may lose. Either way feel how you want to feel about the game.

I’ll be here post game to celebrate the victory, or to laugh at people overreacting to a loss.

PS I feel great about this game if we continue our current trajectory

F*** Baylor
Go Cyclones

I do like how the schedule progresses. I would say the difficulty of the games is almost in the order we play them, with each week getting a little more difficult. Seems like a good way to bring a young team along.
