As I look at all the close losses this year, the one that still makes me the maddest is that Baylor game. I really wish we could have beaten them - might have contributed to an earlier decline for their FB program.
This 1988 ISU grad, who married a 1988 ISU grad would pull every bit of money he donates to the university if ISU administration, coaches, athletic department, and fans behaved the way Baylor has in this instance.
Any school that does what Baylor has apparently allowed to happen--and in my view is ironically linked to "conservative" religious morals--should not be an institution that gets to be in a major sports conference or should be an institution that any FATHER would send his DAUGHTERS to.
Long story short: No. Real ISU fans would not act this way if Iowa State was involved in anything like what Baylor was/is.
This could be off base, but I sometimes think there's a religious/political justification behind their defense too. Like in their minds they're being persecuted by the media because they're a conservative baptist school and as a result the liberal godless media is going after them.
I'm not saying they're ok with what happened because they're baptist or conservative, but that they've created this persecution complex where they believe they're being attacked because they are religious and conservative
