Might be seeing the end of the Baylor regime as we know it. TCU put am impressive beat down on em.
As I look at all the close losses this year, the one that still makes me the maddest is that Baylor game. I really wish we could have beaten them - might have contributed to an earlier decline for their FB program.

I'm just glad Iowa doesn't have to play Baylor. Would be hard to root against Iowa for once.

I'm probably wrong here, but I just feel there's no way ISU fans would be like that if Briles was our coach.
This 1988 ISU grad, who married a 1988 ISU grad would pull every bit of money he donates to the university if ISU administration, coaches, athletic department, and fans behaved the way Baylor has in this instance.

Any school that does what Baylor has apparently allowed to happen--and in my view is ironically linked to "conservative" religious morals--should not be an institution that gets to be in a major sports conference or should be an institution that any FATHER would send his DAUGHTERS to.

Long story short: No. Real ISU fans would not act this way if Iowa State was involved in anything like what Baylor was/is.

This could be off base, but I sometimes think there's a religious/political justification behind their defense too. Like in their minds they're being persecuted by the media because they're a conservative baptist school and as a result the liberal godless media is going after them.

I'm not saying they're ok with what happened because they're baptist or conservative, but that they've created this persecution complex where they believe they're being attacked because they are religious and conservative

Former Texas Gov. Mark White, also one of the founders, said he blames the board of regents for the school's failure to implement the guidelines issued in a letter sent to colleges and universities in 2011 from the U.S. Department of Education on how to carry out Title IX, the gender equity law that requires schools to investigate allegations of sexual violence.
...

When a reporter asked if there was support for reinstating Briles, a smattering of people started to clap as Williams interrupted and said he didn't want to lose focus.

"Our focus is not on athletics. They may be a symptom of the problem, but we don't know. The buck stops with the board," he said.

The Baylor Associate AD was arrested for choking a reporter after the TCU game. Seriously...

"Baylor Associate Athletic Director Heath Nielsen, 47, is free on bond following his arrest earlier this month on a misdemeanor assault warrant stemming from an attack on Nov. 5 in which a sportswriter was grabbed by the throat and pushed away from a player after the Bears’ 62-22 loss to TCU.

Baylor has not commented on the incident, but Nielsen has been conspicuously absent for the past several weeks."

Here is my favorite part from the ESPN article I read this morning about this topic:

Nielsen has worked the past 17 years at Baylor, and his job duties include working directly with the Baylor football program and media. According to the school's website, Nielsen is "responsible for management of the public image of the program. Nielsen is the program's spokesman, the liaison between local and national media, and the primary contact with television and radio networks that broadcast Baylor games."

Well he didn't rape anyone. So I guess that's progress in Baylor's world.
