I can't believe how many people have their panties in a bunch from Baylor athletics.

I can't believe how many people have their panties in a bunch from a female college basketball player.

I can't believe somebody has their panties in a buch from what is said on a message board.

welcome to the intarweb

You are welcome to have whatever opinion you want about Baylor. I'm saddened that you happen to hold the ones that you do, but that's just me.

However, let's get one thing straight...regarding the bolded word above, you speak for yourself. You don't speak for me, or likely many other posters who are members of this board.

I was speaking for ISU fans who dislike Baylor. Nothing more, nothing less.

Do you really think that 7000+ of the members here hold the level of contempt and jealousy that Al_4_State does for Baylor?

I have no issue with Baylor athletics. I think they have a poor fanbase. Their success does not bother me, but I think their fan base is spoiled and gets far more back than they put in, in terms of support.

Notice, I have no ill will towards KSU. They parallel Baylor in many ways. Your claim that jealousy is the root of my distaste for Baylor should apply to KSU. But I like KSU and their fanbase, even though they have achieved more athletically than ISU while being similarly situated in terms of resources.

Perhaps the difference here lays with the fan bases, but you don't want to acknowledge that.

everytime i have been to waco - the fans went out of their way to make us feel very welcome -- just good solid people. It's a small private school and, for some reason, people here want to condemn them for that. I'd kill for ISU to have their recent success and so would nearly every other ISU fan. Some need to feel better by pushing Baylor down. A low form of human action. Sad really.

Let's call it what it is...when one party declares that another party doesn't deserve something, that's pretty much a dead giveaway that the former party is jealous of what the latter party has or has done.

I guess your assertion is possible, but I guess I have more faith in ISU fans than that.

ISU fans don't need to be jealous of anybody. I don't understand it. We can be proud of what ISU has done without trashing those who have accomplished different things.
Post of the Day!!!

You constantly rip on fans of other schools such as Iowa, or fans of professional sports teams. Why do you feel so much above someone doing the same? You seem to have some strange, unexplained affinity for Baylor. They are one of the few groups you go out of your way to defend. Sometimes, part of the fun of sports is irrational distaste for certain opponents.

I see you revel in hypocrisy. A low form of human action. Sad really.

So, if our program achieves new heights in the next 3 years do you want everyone assuming we cheated? Grow up people.

If anything Baylor's success should give us even more optimism that we can be better that our past.

Stay mature my friends.

If ISU starts getting top 10 recruiting classes before they win anything significant I'll most definitely assume Iowa State University cheats significantly in basketball recruiting. It's the rational thing to think. An obvious exception to this would be if a top 5 player grew up a huge Cyclone fan or son of a former player or something. Fred is going to get us great recruits and already has, but you don't just pull top 10 McD AAs out of thin air with Baylor's lack of tradition and recent scandal without winning a lot and gradually building something.

To get the recruiting classes they have with no Big 12 championships and coming off of a coach involved in a murder coverup is pretty ridiculous.

I respect the "withhold judgement" point of view, but those who think there's nothing suspicious with Baylor basketball recruiting are absolute morons or masters of self deception.

I don't think this way about football because they seem to have made slow improvement and outside of RGIII it's not like they are getting better athletes than Texas, USC and LSU. I don't have any feelings on womens basketball or baseball because I don't follow the sports. Baylor suddenly being among the blue bloods of mens basketball while not reaching that level of success should make rational people who have ever followed college basketball question things.

agreed ....and scott drew is not a good coach plain and simple. There is a difference between good recruiters and good coaches and some that can do both. I wont get into Calipari, Coach K etc....cause we all know they are known for doing some pretty unethical things. I love to take jabs at other schools as much as anyone but moreso im too excited bout the future of our programs MBB and Football to get worked up over this post unlike some. Go State

This is hilarious, coming from you.

This is such a misperception. Until the 2012 recruiting class (which by the way, is not in stone), Baylor has NEVER had a Top 10 recruiting class. The 2012 class is coming off two Elite 8s in three years. A Top 10 class is probably justified.

In regards to "coming off a coach involved in a murder coverup," you realize that was 10 years ago, right? That's an eternity in college sports. Why do people always make it seem like Drew came in and started getting Top 10 classes in 2004?

In regards to you not even thinking twice about "a top 5 player grew up a huge Cyclone fan or son of a former player or something" committing to ISU, what about a Top 10 player who grew up an hour from campus, grew up in a religious home with two parents who are both ordained ministers, and doesn't want to be far from home because of his sick mother committing to Baylor? Because that's Perry Jones, who prior to Quincy Miller committing last year, was Baylor's only top 10 player in the history of ever.

Facts are your friend. Use them.

Someone takes the internet too seriously.

You see the same comments about Baylor on pretty much every other board in the league.

Your teams are doing very well. Football will probably never be as good as it just was for awhile. Griffin was a once-in-a-generation type player. You won't suck, but 10 wins will not be the norm. Basketball appears sustainable, but there are way too many question marks surrounding Drew. WBB and baseball are two sports I couldn't care less about. Have them.

Most of the ire towards Baylor has little to do with jealousy. K-State has been doing exactly what Baylor has done for a while now. How much jealousy towards them do you see? Almost none. Why? Because K-State fans support their teams and welcome visitors. They deserve the success. Baylor fans do neither, and don't deserve the success. Our feelings have nothing to do with your traditional status, or anything that happens on the court.

K-State hasn't come close to what Baylor accomplished the last 12 months. Sounds like you are just looking at FB.

I've been treated better at Kinnick than Waco (although I've been treated worse at Kinnick, too).

I've also been treated better at any current or former Big 12 school (Texas, A&M, K-State, Nebraska, Mizzou) than at Baylor. Part of the basis of my opinion. Nothing outright mean from Baylor fans, just unwelcoming.

Doesn't K-State have an Elite 8 in the past 5-6 years in MBB? I couldn't care less about WBB or baseball.

Is he supposed to care about womens basketball? In terms of MBB, I don't think anyone that isn't completely naive believes that Scott Drew isn't shady as hell. You just can't seem to find another coach out there that has anything positive to say about the guy. You hear about the tactics that he uses and then he gets in front of a camera and attempts to act like a good, caring coach. It's about as disingenuous as it gets.

Their MBB team has had success and I would applaud that if there was a different guy at the helm.

Marrying a gold digger. Sad really.

Scott Drew has never had a top 10 recruiting class. 14 is the best he has ever signed...

of course that changes this spring when he will sign the #4 class in the Nation...but that is following two Elite Eight appearances in the last three years.

Too bad they will always be known for having a coach to get one of his players to off another player while making him out to be a drug dealer.

I haven't talked to Yogi, so I'm just guessing, but allowing folks to post things like this and not be deleted by the mods and not being strongly rebuked by the local faithful, might be what he is talking about.

I have mixed feelings regarding Baylor athletics.

The football teams success is most impressive and probably equally deserved. Not necessarily for their fans but for the players and coaches. Briles seems to be a good coach who has immediately improved the Baylor football team and RG3 is probably one of the classiest athletes I have ever seen that is that talented. I found myself cheering for them every game after ISU played them.

The men's basketball team I don't quite feel the same because of the suspicions surrounding their coach. I don't have any ill feelings toward their players and am willing to reserve my judgment until something comes out about Drew, other staff members, or their players.

The women's team is probably the biggest issue and if I actually was a WBB fan I would be completely outraged. Britney Griner (male or female) is a thug. I believe Baylor fans defending her are either completely ignorant or have a short memory and forgot about how she assaulted a fellow player on the court. Personally I can't figure out why she didn't face charges. It was completely classless and if would have happened anywhere off the court she would have gone to jail. The only thing that may have been worse, was the poor excuse for "punishment" as she only sat 2 games.
