Baylor 2009

So I know this is for Cyclone football, but ever since we played yall last season, I've kept up with your message boards. I probably enjoy your forums more than anyone else's in the big 12 except for aggie's, but only because those idiots make fools of themselves on a daily basis and it's funny to read. I notice that many on here are pegging the 09 Baylor game as a likely win, while on baylorfans the game is seen as a lock for Baylor and an essential win if we are to make a bowl. I'd like to hear some perspectives on 09's Baylor @ ISU game, and also predictions on our 2009 record. Here's mine:

@ Wake Forest L 28-31
Connecticut W 41-28
Northerwestern State W 59-10
Kent State W 49-14
@ Oklahoma L 27-44
@ Iowa State W 45-20
Oklahoma State L 35-42
Nebraska W 34-20
@ Mizzou L 21-24
Texas L 17-21
@ Texas A&M W 52-28
Texas Tech W 35-32

Final Record: 7-5

Blast away at my overconfidence, but I really think this record is practical based on how much better we performed last year and how much we have comming back. Now I am looking forward to hearing some Cyclone opinions.

Not likely my friend. This is our national championship year.

As I recall Baylor and Nebraska were the two games after Bates left, during which the staff had said they were trying to "protect" Arnaud or something. We scored 10 against Baylor and 7 against Nebraska. We averaged 26.5 against the rest of the Big XII. I think its fair to say that last years Baylor game was not indicative of our offense.

That said, I'd also give Baylor the edge right now in a close game.

And 3 in a row. Ugh. Keep in mind, that first Baylor win at JTS was a result of a bull **** call and kept us out of the North title. ARRRGH. Too bad the only people that were on the sideline that game, that will be on the sideline this game are Ash and Barkema...

That isn't a bad thing. Best to get the sour taste out of the staff's mouth. The players sure as heck won't forget what happened and it should be all the motivation they need.

35-32 over Tech, huh? I'd like to hear how you came to that conclusion...

funny one year of semi-success and they think they'll come in here and blow us out by 25. We may be bad but i dont believe we'll lose by that much if we lose. I say its 50-50 right now for the game, depends on how the previous games go. If we come in with our heads down we'll lose by 2 touchdowns, but i can see like someone said a 24-20 game or something similar. No team will win by more than 2 touchdowns this game.

At least we tailgate, our stadium isn't in a ghetto, and our fans aren't pompous and weird... Sorry if I seem bitter, but we did not have a good time in Waco, and that was decided before kick off ever happened and the bloodbath ensued..

Baylor is awesome.... they even legalized dancing a few years back! What an awesome place. :jimlad:

One can't help but be impressed by a "religious university" that cheats in sports.

It would be very difficult to predict this game given ISU will be using new offensive and defensive schemes.

Plus, as previously mentioned Bates left mid week before the Baylor game and this may have had a dramatic effect on both the way ISU coached and the attitude of the team.

ISU also used so many underclassmen last year that I would expect some improvement for ISU based on experience alone.

And now you know how the rest of the Big 12 feels about us....

Compare our track records in Basketball and FB since the Big 12 was formed.

We have 5 bowl games, Baylor has 0.

We have several NCAA Tourneys in MBB, Baylor has 1. We have 2 conference championships in MBB and 1 conference Tournament Championship.

We are down but we have been much more successful than Baylor til the last couple of years.

I pray that CPR has those guys ready to murder by the start of every game. I think we could definitely take these guys at the Jack, [/quote

As long as our guys arn't former Baylor basketball players, then we might get away with it. Sorry, had to say it.
