Basketball Student Sections

We're EASILY ahead of Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor, and Colorado. You guys think CA is the worst thing since Bin Laden, but I can't even begin to explain how ****** some of those are. Kansas State has to be towards the top. Kansas is up there.

It's not fair to make fun of Nebraska. The 4 rows of students they pack in there try their hardest. They can't help being Huskers.

so, honest question, whats wrong with the committee?

Lack of balls to take a stand against the AA. CAC truly has no control over anything, as the AA runs everything. If I had my way, it would be a completely different entity. This is why to get to be part of CA, you have to buy the stupid ******* SAA card, which is an absolute joke. I'd actually love to see CAC tell the AA to screw off, but my guess is that CAC needs the AA a lot more than the AA needs CA. In a way, they're extorting $$$ from students making CA tie in with the SAA card. It also tells me that the AA realizes that the SAA card is a damn joke, and in order for them to make it worth their while, they need to force that upon people to buy instead of giving them free will to buy it if they want it.

Edit: And if anyone with the Alumni Association has a logical explanation for that, I'd LOVE to hear it, because through the last year, I haven't been able to come up with one besides the fact that somebody f'd up and a program they thought would be good for everybody (SAA cards) has been a humongous failure and business threatened to quit giving them money unless those cards started being used more often. It sounds like a really, really easy way for the Alumni Association to take the CA $$$$ and blend it in elsewhere for them to spend on things other than CA.

Well, I'll be honest here. The first and second years of CA it actually wasn't that bad. CAC actually lead cheers, they cheered their butts off and got other students cheering, and they weren't as strict. But, as the years went on they got more strict and the CAC turned into people who take up the first 2 rows and stand there with their hands in their pockets and yell at people to stop being so "rude" to the opposing team. Last year was the first year I haven't been in CA because I graduated, but I can't imagine much has changed.
A college student section is supposed to be mean, intimidating, and loud. Some of the committee members seem to be really anal about what goes on and they save about 20 seats for their friends who show up at tip off and then stand their with their heads in their ***.
If somebody says a bad word, I don't need to get eyed down by a committee member and have them threaten to kick me out. I want a loud, intimidating student section back.

Just for the record, I've never had someone tell me to watch what I say or anything, and I've said some things to referees and opposing players that my mother would not be happy with.

I definitely feel ya on the SAA membership BS, but I ran right up to the court and yelled in a refs face and nobody said anything, also, I do hate the people that automatically get the first row and don't do anything.

There were a couple times where I'd say some "dirty" things in anger at the refs, and I would get the stare down from one of the committee members. After a little bit one of them told me to watch what I say or I would have to leave.

And its not like I was dropping F bombs left and right, it was after horrible calls where the entire crowd was booing.

I've never had that, but I would be ****** too

The best part of the whole thing is that the biggest fans, the ones who SHOULD be on CAC because they bleed cardinal and gold, aren't accepted after the interviewing process. I'm pretty sure Flag Guy will know what I'm talking about here. I know a few people on CAC personally, and they for the most part are doing it because they want to be there, but there are some who view it as a resume builder, and they're the issue. CAC being a resume builder is a hilarious joke.

They also need to lead more cheers. When it first started CAC would start a cheer almost every time ISU had the ball, like "I-S-U *clap*" or "Lets go Cyclones". Now, it seems like whenever ISU has the ball everybody just stands there mute. They need to take some initiative and get the students going.

I have dropped f bombs left and right and not a thing has been said to me...well, minus the ref that had a cop called over to use because I said I hadn't seen someone suck that much since his wife visited my bedroom last night.

Well, maybe the lady that yelled at me is no longer there, or you haven't been by her. It only happened once, so its not like its a common thing, but sometimes it just takes one to ruin the taste.

All that said, it's not like I'm totally against CA. I was in it every year I was in college and cheered my butt off. And its not like it was going to change so I wasn't going to just sit in the balcony and play on my cell phone. I just wish they would take some more action and get the students crazy. I know students really shouldn't "need" that extra push, but some of them do.

EDIT: I guess I should say I've had a friend or two on the committee, so I'm not ragging on them just because I don't know them.

Maybe we aren't number 12, but we are pretty darn close to it. Two things kept me from buying tickets for next year. 1. Coach Mac 2. The fact I'd be sitting in CA... Now, there is only 1 reason I am getting them, FH. Changing our student section to almost ANYTHING would make it better and make my college experience so much better. We have a lot of people show up, but it's almost more embarrassing that we get so many people there and none of them know basketball or can get into it. CA=fail

Aren't you guys forgetting Nebraska at #12? I thought they only get like 200-300 students a game.

So do we if you count the ones actually involved in the game. Sure they all jump around after a dunk and follow the poster at free throws. When you come back from a TV timeout and the first camera shot is the whole front row sitting down and texting on the phone......

ISU at #9 is my vote. The student section as i knew it in the late 90's and early 2000's is dead.
#1 KU
#2 OSU
#3 KSU

If you honestly think the students at ISU are that bad, you need to go to some more Big 12 arenas. Even in the last 2 years where we've been really bad, we still rank at least in the top half of the conference.

She lives by me and every time my roommate and I see her we ether yelll 'BOO' at the top of our lungs at here or I make the loudest, cheesiest barfing noise to get here attention then boo her. :biglaugh:
