Not that it is the best movie by any means, but Sandlot holds a special place for me, and I don't think I even watched it as a kid growing up in that era, and was a huge baseball fan. Just never had the urge to watch it. I have probably seen the movie multiple times in pieces on TV, but never really sat down and watched.

My 15 year old son loves playing baseball. He plays in a fall league, spring league, school ball in the summer, and is in the gym all winter. We had a Friday night not too long ago and he was home and just suggested we watch it. I thought he might find it too childish or corny, but he loved it.

Then again, if Christopher Nolan made a 3 hour movie about a scientist optimizing spin rate and efficiency on a curveball, he'd watch it.

The Sandlot is a baseball movie that captures baseball and something so much deeper.

The Sandlot is such a great movie for all non-baseball reasons. It's completely timeless and enduring. And everyone has their own "Sandlot" they remember as a kid, going to with friends. May not have had anything to do with baseball, or sports even, but it was the place you had to do whatever it was you wanted. Such a great movie.

Best movie of the the bunch is debatable. Which movie would I sit down to watch right now if it was on? That's easy. Major League.
