I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, but hilton has got to be rock'n on friday for us to have a chance, if you have kept up with his highschoolhoops diary, it seemed like unc had a good visit, OU decent, KU was mostly about bill selfs house-so i think they are prty much out, and duke had a really good visit, in my mind duke is in the lead and has a very legit chance of getting him. Even if he thinks his mind is narrowed down, we can still put a wisper in the back of his head. The reason for him taking an unofficial visit to isu is because he grew up here, he knows all there is to know about isu, and still, being the wise kid that he is, wanted to take full advantage of all five official vists that he could. In my mind the reason he is allowed to use our PF is because we are from iowa.... we are generally nice people, and from what our players have said, mcD is a very nice guy and would want nothing but the best for harrison (his sons team mate). Does anybody know if he will be releasing a diary of the isu visit? ino its not an official visit, but it would deffinately be an apropriate way for him to at least give us a shout out. once again, lets get creative on friday and get HB's attention. Cyclone alley its your time to start to rekindle the magic to hilton. Start thinking of chants for him and get them on here early, mabe time marks so that you can get everybody in on it, so its rocking, and not lame where only 1/3 of the ppl know whats going on before its over.

But my fingers are crossed that something magical can happen. It was great watching the guys last night--they are clicking earlier this year and we have such a different lineup with some athletes n size.
 
yeah your prob. correct. but if he does sign with duke, then you know we will have a ton of ppl blaming mc.d for letting the best recruit slip right out of our back yard. cant really point any fingers, expecially if we do nothing to help our chances.... and no im not saying its mc.d's fault. regaurdless of barnes decision we should be going into every game with the inthusiasim that a major recruit is there. we've been too long with good teams, and finally it looks like we have a chance of light, and we should take full advantage.... who know how long it could be again. lets hope this is the start of somthing good, possibly turning over a new leaf.
 
Don't worry about HB's mom if he goes to Duke not being able to see his games.

They gave Chris Duhon's mom a job at a capital mgmt firm as a manager...she ran a daycare in Louisiana before that. I'm sure that's where most top capital mgmt firms get their best people...'hey we've got an application from a guy with an MBA from Harvard here!' "Don't bother, I've already located the perfect canidate...she's a 50 yo woman from Louisiana who runs a day care out of her apartment!" "Wow...you think we can get her?" "I'm hopeful!"

So no telling what they could do for HB's mom. She may end up the president of a company down there.

I think K is a dirty POS. Look at Quin Snyder at MU...dirty as crap in a filthy port a potty. Where do you think he learned it? He spent every bit of time after HS at DUKE under K. You think K is clean? If so how could he have a filthy POS like Quin at Duke? You can ONLY do it if you're a dirty POS as well.

I will finish with the fact that I've lived in the RDU area for 4 years. It's beautiful. Durham is a DUMP. But most importantly almost to a person EVERY Duke alumni my wife and I meet or worked with were some of the LEAST impressive college grads I've ever met. I fully admit I hate Duke...have for YEARS. But my wife doesn't care a lick about any of that...doesn't watch sports...has no college alliance...she went to Texas State. And even she is in 100% agreement...HYPE HYPE HYPE.
 
Please just choose a school already......

I think HB is a great kid..a great recruit...but seriously....I'm concerned that people are making him out to be the next Cardinal Jesus?
 
I remember the Chris Colvin "waiting for his decision" thread...and that was epic. I can't even imagine the traffic on here before, during and after HB's decision.

Okay...how about we make him the "only #1 recruit in the nation to come out of Iowa....EVER"

Talk of him does get overwhelming. But this is the first #1 Iowa has ever produced and he grew up in Ames. There is a significant storyline there.

yea, especially when a 41 yard run last week in garbage time by Bo essentially shut down the site! I can see it now on the 12th, chris williams just standing there at the CF mainframe server with a fire extinguisher and a garden hose, just waiting for that thing to burst into flames!!! that might be one of the busiest traffic days in CF history, especially when HB places that ISU hat on his head!!!

FWIW, KU has many parents living in Lawrence. It seems to be a growing trend. The parents don't have much incentive to stay at a low-level job at home when they can find a similar paying job in Lawrence, watch and take care of their son for a few years before he earns millions as a pro player. At KU, Sherron Collins' mom, Tyshawn Taylor's mom, Marcus and Markieff Morris's mom, C.J. and Xavier Henry's mom, and Brady Morningstar's parents (who should probably be ignored in this discussion, as they have lived in Lawrence for at least 20 years) all live in Lawrence. However, I don't think any of them has any sort of ultra-desirable job.
 
I expect him to mention two schools at the presser. He's going to spend a prolonged period of time talking about Iowa State, the people, the school, the coaching staff, the players and help us get a bunch of positive national TV pub. Say nothing but good things.

Then put on a Duke hat saying there's only one school that he'd rather attend.

I firmly believe he will whip out a Duke hat, throw it on the ground, and take a dump on it. Then say Go Cyclones! as he rips off his overshirt displaying a cyclone jersey underneath. Write it down that you heard it here first.

Right...I'm sure all the jobs where a step down or a lateral move at best.

Let's just leave it at that and not derail the thread.
 
I fully expect McDermott to sign a kid who's grown up less than a mile from campus, has attended Cyclone games virtually all his life, and has coaches, teachers, neighbors, and friends who are almost all Cyclone fans and look forward to cheering him on.
I fully expect it.
