Available bye week opponents

That would be some consolidation at least. As much as this sucks for the fans, it has to be way worse for the team.

Which is why I'm baffled they didn't start earlier today. Getting the game in has to be priority #1, regardless of how many fans were planning on a 7pm kick. People will get over it.

I know it's all hindsight now, and what if they moved it up and the lightning/storms never happened. But by all accounts they were expecting poor weather. Start the damn game ASAP to either get it fully in, or at least get a headstart on delays.

Absolutely not true. Several weather forecasts before the game had the rain holding off until 10PM.

If Scott Frost is as good as they think he is Nebraska has a very good shot of beating out Wisconsin for the Big Ten West.

I actually wish I could have seen them play some today to know just how absurd that actually is.

Well, it's not an exact science. I'm pretty sure there were chances of storms from late afternoon on. Would have been a real debacle if they had inconvenienced everyone that way, and then had to delay until later (or even cancel later anyway).

Then schedule a game for championship week contingent on if we don’t make it. We can afford a payout if we do by chance play in the championship game. Keep the bye week!
I think this makes the most sense. Wait a few months and see where we are. If there is a chance we make the Big 12 Championship game, tonight won't matter. If there a chance we needed tonight to make a bowl game, we're not playing in the Big 12 Championship game.

I just don’t see any way we make this game up in any snap or form. We need a bye week. We need to keep open the possibility of playing in the Big 12 Championship.

Looks like it will be an 11 game season. And that’s ok.

Let's call it 11.1 data points.

Okay so who's official forecast are they basing decisions on? And how do they even know that tonight will keep storming? Could have kept waiting it out as long as possible....

Well since it was still lightning at 930 and Nebraska was having the same issues with a storm that would be heading our way....

I understand we are at the mercy of the weather. But out of all the possible decisions they could have made, this was the worst choice.

Make it work for early Sat, early Sun, late Sun, early Mon. You'd rather deal with the headache of a reschedule later on than trying to get this thing finished as an official contest? Sorry but I think both teams will survive a slightly shortened prep for week 2.
