I believe Bishop Garrigan played 2 games in Minnesota at the start of the season. They were 1-1, I do not know who they played in the second game.

V. Small school teams she has to shy away from strong post ups and seals because that's where defenders are looking to draw charges rather than when she has a full head of steam.
Providence Academy (enrollment 286). Looks like they're in AA in Minnesota (out of 4 classes).
One of my favorite pics of Audi against North Linn in last years state tournament. The Lynx managed to put up a fight against Audi...but holy $%^&.
How did the game turnout? What was Audi’s stats for the game? She is from my hometown, but we follow the public school
yes, she has talent, but needs to get in major college ball shape , very slow!
Audi faced a nationally ranked Hopkins team that has 3 D-1 recruits. Audi had to help bring the ball up court because of Hopkins full court pressure. Bishop Garrigan guards were unable to counter. Hopkins had too much talent and they never stopped with full court pressure.
This is making more sense now. Garrigan is like the pella christian of Pella, but smaller.
They played a very large school that is rich in history and has two commits to Michigan and stanford so far.
they have a 5 star junior forward and another uncommitted 4 year starter that is a top 40 Minnesota player at the PG position.

Returning this season for Hopkins is senior forward Taylor Woodson, who has signed with the University of Michigan, and Stanford University signee, forward NuNu Agara. Junior guard Liv McGill is one of Minnesota’s best from the Class of 2024 and senior guard Kelly Boyle is a four-year varsity player.
Hopkins has won eight state titles since 2004 and can lay claim to a ninth in 2020 when the pandemic wiped out the final game of the state tournament.

My question has to do with why are Iowa basketball teams allowed to play out of state teams but football teams are not allowed? I remember when Dowling was winning their state titles a few years ago they were not allowed to play out of state teams. Anyone know what the deal is?
Football can play out-of-state teams. There just aren't very many such games. The issue is usually how the other state association sets up its schedule rotation. There was a gap from 2012-17 without any out-of-state opponents.
Sioux City schools play South Sioux (Neb.) regularly. CBTJ has played Omaha South the last couple of years. Assumption played Alleman until the Illinois association changed its scheduling pattern/rotation.
Yes, I know there have been a few the last couple years, mostly border schools. Wrestling has had out of state teams come in and teams have went out of state. For football, it is more how the schedules line up.

They don’t have the quickness to stay close to Hopkins. It gives the girls a chance to get themselves ready for tough competition later in the year. Also read the pop up about Hopkins, they played Holy Family shortly after the article was written. Holy Family, on the boys team has the 6-10” kid that ISU looked at, he decided on Butler.

This isn't even one of what peeps feel is their best team recently. Still favored to win the state title. HS of UConn's Paige Beuckers. Hopkins turns out a lot of Div 1 players but not usually big stars. Not a "star system", pressing pressure all around defensive team effort has sort of been their jam over the years.
BTW, Hopkins is coached now by Tara Starks, the mother of our only Hopkins recruit ever, TeeTee Starks. I never understood why she came to ISU. She was never a three point shooter and was an integral part of the Royal's pressuring defense which ISU never did or does. TeeTee was a good player but ISU was a bad fit for her IMHO. Tara Starks took over at Hopkins in 2020 (she was a long time AAU coach) after Minnesota HS super coach Brian Cosgriff retired. And now Cosgriff is "unretired" and coaching rival Minnetonka HS.
