Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

Has the rot started to creep in?

Sometimes in life you just have to step up and admit when something isn’t working anymore. If this doesn’t feel like the Rhoads era or the Prohm times in basketball, then maybe you weren’t around for those eras.

Sometimes you just have to admit you are completely wrong. Completely. You would have fired Campbell. You tell us to admit that it is not working anymore. So for you, it is over and Campbell needs to go. You and Joefrog are idiots.

Weren’t 4 of the 5 home losses last year? That is the recent and more relevant trend that had (has) people concerned.

Also— our programs putrid long term history is irrelevant.

And for the record—- I don’t want Campbell gone, but it’s been ok to discuss it given some trends.

"recent trends"

LOL some of you guys are insufferable.

I don’t understand how folks can sit here with a straight face and say our bad history is irrelevant. Do you seriously think history doesn’t matter? I think if we’re one of the worst P5 programs historically, I’m expecting a few bumps in the road along the way

It 100% goes back to our inability to beat Iowa. People put WAY too much stock into that game. Fans need to quit looking at Iowa's record and think that we are going to attain that year in year out. We aren't catching their scheduling breaks.

Look at yourself. Did I come in here and blast people and call them idiots after we got embarrassed in Norman? Nope. Yet here you are, acting a fool. The Jihadic wing of Cyclone Fanatic ladies and gentlemen.

We just beat an unranked TCU team and the Campbell-stans are acting like we made the playoffs. It’s frankly embarrassing. Raise your expectations, folks.
We just soundly beat a program who was in the national championship game last year. On a night where our offense was clicking and our defense looked the best it has all year and we had a huge special teams play. It was the type of momentous win this young team needs right now. Now let’s see if they can put it together on the road.

Unfortunately two of our losses are to the #5 team in the country (who will probably win the conference and may make a CFP appearance) and to a team who will probably win the MAC (and is crushing everyone they’ve played since us)

I know I am not the only one who left the game in Norman encouraged. I'm also OK with calling it embarrassing.

And anyone with half a brain who watched the Iowa/Ohio games know that they were winnable. Instead we lost, because of inexcusable play calling and piss-poor game management.

Our program is capable of so much more. This team is capable of so much more. Reject mediocrity. ******** teams go 6-6, so they say.

Gunner and Joefrog. I called you two idiots. We got beat badly in Norman by the Top Ten ranked OU Sooners. Like that is a rarity in Cyclone football. Such idiocy.

We didn’t play 2022 TCU this week. This media talking point of the “team that was in the championship game last year” that everyone is now parroting is hilarious.

I was told by you, JoeFrog and others that this team would never recover from the death spiral rot. We were destined to be a 1 win team and that we should get out in front of this. Nobody is celebrating 3-3 but rather pointing out that you guys were morons for wanting Campbell to be fired. You literally thought we would be 1-5 heading into Cincy.
And we can discuss expectations all you want, but 6-6 or 7-5 in a rebuild year is still a positive step for Iowa State. If you expect more than perhaps you and others should invest in a higher giving level or give more to WeWill.

There were some legitimate concerns about the last couple seasons and the first 3 games of this season. It seems like the last 3 games the staff and team made some changes and have made lots of improvements. Both things can be true.

Also, Matt should probably get more credit for the off-season changes he made. ST has been a lot better this year overall, Nate has been getting much better at play calling and I have really liked what I have seen the last few games, and I think Clanton is starting to get the oline going and in a couple years should hopefully be a strength of the team.
