Arizona State Dual

Flo has a lot of things that are less then desirable and have some shaky coverage at times. The thing I liked about track was the ability to purchase individual events. Their interface for brackets suck. The fact that they haven’t evolved anything in 5+ years hurts also

I stopped paying for Flo several years ago after one too many events where the video didn't come through. A dual between ISU and SDSU was the final straw. They are crap.

In my experience of pricing subscription plans for a living, companies make more money offering monthly plans in conjunction with annual plans, even within niche markets like this. Anecdotally I think that would be true for Flo based on the comments posted here. I’d suggest $12-$15 per month with a discounted annual plan of $120. I’d also recommend a PPV option that ranges based on perceived demand. They could significantly expand their customer ba$e.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it before, but if you purchase a Flo monthly subscription for any other sport you should have access to the Flowrestling content. I'm not sure why Flowrestling specifically pushes the annual subscription.

Flo definitely has it's warts. They struggle with reliable feeds for big events and they've lost some of their premier college wrestling rights, but they catch more grief from fans than they deserve. They put out a lot of good content that is more focused on popularity growth of the sport, they have all the UWW events, etc. In my mind it's worth the $150/year. Especially if they can make some good improvements through the acquisition of Trackwrestling and integrating the two platforms. PPV would be a great option for more casual fans.

Wrestling fans are so pecuilar though, they'll never make everyone happy.

Great for people who have Flo and are OK with the virtual monopoly it has on the sport.
We should try to grow the sport of wrestling …. proceeds to have almost everything locked down by overpriced subscriptions to flo and all news is top secret it seems like. Even in high school wrestling in IA. Makes zero sense.

What is a reasonable price for a Flo subscription? Don’t get it if you don’t want, but I fail to see how it’s overpriced. $10 to watch ISU wrestle a JUCO is overpriced. Vs Flo where $10 for the month of January and I get the scuffle, plus over 20 D1 wrestling duals. Also the top high school events like the Clash and Doc B.

Back to the dual, really hope COVID doesn't cause this dual to be cancelled. Some really great matches for our guys. Big opportunities for Kysen, Ramazan, Degen, and Yonger. Plus David and Teemer always have good matches.

I could be wrong but I always feel like we match up poorly vs ASU. Could be in a big hole early, especially if Redding (making some assumptions that he is the guy) doesn't win. 49 and 97 are huge matches. Will also be nice to see David get top tier win, hopefully in dominating fashion.

I don’t think you’re wrong. ASU is tough up and down their lineup. I would feel a lot better if we had Redding at 133, Parker at 141 and Degen at 149, but…

Teemer is tough. A Hodge contender dominates Teemer, I think, and David is trending in that direction. I’m anxious to see that matchup.

Yonger got majored by Norfleet last year, but it was closer than the final score. If I remember right, Yonger got in trouble early, then started to put Norfleet on his heels late. If that match was about 30 seconds longer, and Yonger may have come all the way back.

Agree with this. I have plenty of issues with Flo, but there is no denying that they have had an immeasurable influence on the growth of the sport. I think that's also part of the reason you're seeing more and more meets on ESPN+, B10, ACC network, etc.

I also held out for a long time because of the annual subscription. However, once i finally took the plunge I have really enjoyed watching countless non-collegiate events during the 'off-season'. Understand that's not the same for those only concerned about ISU though.

Agree on Bastida. I don't put a lot of stock in his matches last year for him. Truthfully, in many moments it was just so obvious he didn't have a clue what he was doing.

I think if he keeps wrestling what he does, stays the hell away from underneath as much as possible, he legitimately can beat almost anyone at 97. He wrestles his match, he wins. It will be really interesting to see how guys attack him as the year goes on and they see more film on him.

Yonger is also a completely different wrestler today than he was 11 months ago. Norfleet is tough, but I think Yonger gets it done.

In order to win, Iowa State will need an upset at 125 or 149, keep it to a decision at 133/165/Hwt, win one of the toss ups at 141 and 197, then get bonus out of 174 and 184. Pretty optimistic, and need everything to go the Clones way, but not out of the question:

125- 3-0 (upset)
133- 3-3
141- 3-6
149- 3-9
157- 6-9
165- 6-12
174- 10-12
184- 14-12
197- 17-12 (toss up win)
Hwt- 17-15

Boy, that would be a hell of a win for the Hawaiian. Hopefully we see something like this. Even if in a close loss.

Also, I think for David, unless the other guy is named Deakin, the potential for bonus is always on the table.

I'm hoping with the CDC shortening their isolation guidelines to 5 days that this will all go off without a hitch because this should be a really fun one to watch!

Definitely a lot of opportunities for our guys to make a statement and I hope Dresser and Co. have them all ready to go.

...Gonna have to figure out how to access the Pac 12 Network by Sun.

I just looked at Maricopa County‘s quarantine requirements , they are aligned with CDC so 5 days quarantine if positive 10 days of masking if in close contact so hopefully if no more test positive and if not symptomatic it will be a go.

I think there's a Sling package that carries it. I'm pretty sure I've done a month of Sling in the past to get on there. If I figure it out, I'll post here.

You da man.
Looks like you have to do the Sling Orange + Sports Extra package. Right now it's a free 3-day trial for new customers or $46/mo. for people with existing accounts, active or not (such as myself).

There are many cable and satellite providers that carry it as well. You can check on that here: https://pac-12.com/getpac-12networks

There may be other ways, but I don't know them yet.
