Arizona does NOT hire Tim Floyd

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

Maybe he didnt like being at a FB school and always being second to that.

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

ZIIIINNNNGGGG!!! SAD STAT OF THE DAY---Floyd won more games against in state foes in basketball than the entire football team won against everybody else during his time in Ames. That's sad.

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

So with his dreaming job, and at a weaker PAc-10 conference, he is not really tearing it apart. Seems he is getting older........

85-50 overall, 39-33 in the Pac 10, in 4 years. He had a better winning percentage at Iowa State.

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

Probably better fishing spots in Arizona than LA. He does seem to bounce around a lot but I would get the hell out of L.A. as soon as I could to.

When I first read this I thought you meant LA=louisiana. going back to his roots. :biglaugh:

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

If the program is in the same shape (or better) as it was before he got there, then I don't really see the problem with leaving.

I know a lot of people that change jobs every 4-5 years, so why can't coaches?

Re: Arizona hires Tim Floyd

I wonder if he's going to be able to bring his recruits with him since he will stay in conference. I think USC depending on who they get and the need a big named coach or else they will be headed stright for the bottom of the conference. The great thing for Arizona is that Floyd already has some contacts in LA which Arizona needs to be relevent again

Re: Arizona hires Tim Floyd

ESPN just went through Tim Floyd's coaching profile and background. No mention of ISU.

In the late '80's when former ISU QB David Archer was playing for the Atlanta Falcons, CBS Sports did a report on him. Atlanta was hot at the time and Archer was a big reason. Never once did they mention ISU or show footage of him playing at ISU, they said he came from a Juco college in either Utah or Idaho (I forget) and showed grainy footage of him playing there.

So my dad and I were pissed and called KCCI and complained..oh well, but how the hell do you not even mention the college he got drafted from?

Such is the life of an ISU fan.

Re: Tim Floyd doing what Tim Floyd does

I am kind of surprised that USC didn't have anything in his contract saying he could not leave for another PAC 10 school.

Because USC wanted Floyd more than he wanted them.

Re: Arizona hires Tim Floyd

The guys on Fox Radio were blasting Tim this morning pretty good. Calling the 8-5 rule the "Tim Floyd Rule" and how bad of a coach he is. Once again, no mention of ISU. Even when talking smack we don't get a shout out.

Re: Arizona hires Tim Floyd

Arizona is near the elite programs in basketball, USC is most certainly not. That is why Tim would be dumb not to make this move. Arizona has a decent amount of tradition, and a very good fan following. 2 things that USC has none of in basketball. The reverse would be true about these 2 schools on the Football side of campus.

Re: Arizona hires Tim Floyd

He will be fine recruiting, all he will do is hire some recruits dad or AAU coach to be on his staff like he did at USC.
