are you going to ames?

My question is if you're going, and he chooses somebody other than ISU, would do you do? What DO you do? Do you stand there and gasp? Do you boo? Do you cheer, with a tear running down your cheek? What DO you do?

First of all, I'm 29 and I'm not going. Not that I think it would be weird BEING there, but I do think it would be weird explaining to my boss why I need to leave a couple hours early on Friday afternoon. But I don't think anyone there on Friday afternoon would stand out as being weird, there will probably be at least several hundred people there. It's not like you're some lone guy in a trenchcoat sitting in the corner at the top of the bleachers watching bball practice by yourself.

But anyways, if I were there and he announced anyone but ISU, I would quietly get up and leave, and go to either Es Tas or West Cyde Wings where I would spend the next few hours before tipoff. I would probably do pretty much the same thing if he announced ISU, but I would stay and clap for a few minutes first.

I am thinking about going and if he chooses other than ISU I will boooo and then leave.

If he chooses someone else, I say go Rob Schneider on him ala any Sandler movie, "Cut his head off!" Until Norm McDonald shows me it's good not to be part of a mob going after a black guy.

But that said, I still think the appropriate Schneider line will be "You can do it!"

Can someone help me get the table to the railing if things go bad? It’s going to be hard to drag the table and swing my leg over the railing at the same time.

If he picks KU or OU, then I'll probably walk right out, get in thje car, and then scream at the steering wheel the whole way home.

I'm not even going to watch it or listen to it. I just can't can't imagine the reaction if he chooses against ISU. My buddy and I were talking about this today, what I would love to see if he chooses another school is all of the ISU fans in attendance just silently get up as he's still talking and walk out. Not a huge disruption but just enough to show that he's dead to me now.

This is the best thing to do, IMO. Kind of a "nothing to see here" type reaction.

i'll be in ames starting this evening....going to the game friday night. I'm 23 and considering going....that or i'll have to find a place in town with espnu so that I can watch it....might just be easier to go to the hs

Lucked out and got tickets to the game Friday. Section 131 here I come. Depending on the announcement at 3, the game could be crazy or not so crazy. I hope it is on the crazy side due to the announcement and play of the players. If the announcement is not so good, I hope our fans move on, support our team and make Hilton loud either way!! Curious, if HB makes his decision, could he end up sitting on the bench with the team or behind the team? How does that work?

Go state!

Wow, how'd you score tickets to the big game Friday? You must have known a shady ticket scalper to get those. They're a hot commodity.

Any grown man who boos a 17 year old kid deserves a swift kick in the gonads from the person standing next to them.

+1.

I honestly think the best thing we as a collective fan base could do at that time (those that are actually at the signing) would be to act respectfully and cheer for the kid.

Not getting Barnes would obviously be a bad thing for our program. Even worse would be to give the ISU community a black eye by acting like jerks at a teenagers signing ceremony.

Let's be honest...ESPN will be in the house and filming the entire thing. HB and the crowd. We'd be an internet sensation in a bad way if people start booing and flipping out.

I don't really think it's a good thing for ISU to be remembered in this way. You know a lot of HS kids and basketball moms/dads will be watching this. Showing a little bit of class might not turn anyone on, but acting like a** holes may turn someone off.

Golf clap then wait for an good time to walk out without being a distraction to HB's moment.

I think it depends who he picks. Either way I am not about to publicly boo a 17 year old kid no matter which way he chooses. I think I would stick around and listen to what he has to say if he picks UNC or duke, because I don't think I could hold it against him. If he picks KU or OU, then I'll probably walk right out, get in thje car, and then scream at the steering wheel the whole way home.

But when he picks the clones, I'll probably jump up and down screaming like a little girl for a few minutes, before collecting myself and then moving seats because I have lost all respect from those sitting around me.

I agree with this 100% I think I will go and if he picks ISU, I may lose all control of bodily functions. If UNC or Duke , I will probably somewhat clap. If KU or OU I will passively aggressively walk out.

5 claps if anywhere but ISU

I love both of these answers!

5 claps if anywhere but ISU

5 claps is a brilliant idea!! Imagine if all the Cyclones did that in unison! Classic.

Seriously though, if I went to this I'd clap politely if he didn't choose ISU. I'd also show him the respect he deserves by listening to him finish his speech, if he has anything to say, and then leave quitely. I would be very disappointed, but wish Harrison the best. He'll represent all Iowans well wherever he goes and we should take comfort in that.

if he commits somewhere else, grab a few baggies worth of cookies and briskly walk out of that place
