Sounds like my home town of Parkersburg was ground zero for the tornado today. Anyone here up in that area?

I'm not there, but a bunch of my relatives live in Parkersburg. They were in the basement when the tornado hit and destroyed their house completely. I'm thankful that all five of them are alright, but they said their house is a complete loss. Just waiting for pictures.
From what I've heard, the school is gone, along with several houses and a couple fatalities. Not good.
I'm in Dyersville, about 25 miles west of Dubuque, and helped my sister move home from Wartburg today. What a rainy mess they've got on their hands in Waverly!
Dang... sounds like it's a mess over there.
On a side note, I work with a guy who's spending his first spring/summer Iowa from West Virginia. He got scared the other night when there was a T-Storm with 40 mph gusts because he thinks that's about as "severe" of a storm there could be, not a "small" storm.
Just spent the last while on the phone. My parents live by Dunkerton and lost there home and all buildings. Also two different cousins and two different aunt and Uncle's lost there homes.
That is 5 houses in my family. I will be there early in the morning to help out. Everyone is alive, the most important thing.

Sorry for the loss of property and glad to hear that everyone is OK. Please keep us updated... I just checked all the news sites and the information is very sketchy.

I'm heading up to P-burg tomorrow. Chopper 13 just had live video from there that made me sick to my stomach. Both my wife and my family were gone when the storm hit and are far enough out in the country to only lose power, but several friends have lost nearly everything.
While it was going through that area I heard on the news that the tornado at times was 1 mile wide and between f-3 and f-4 in strength.

I thought something a mile wide was F-5? If so, wouldn't that make it from F-4 to F-5? I'm probably wrong though.
I'm the type of guy that is usually outside to watch these storms come in, but after seeing some of the video from this afternoon, I've got everything ready to have bad storms in Ankeny all night.
They just had Chopper 13 on in NE Iowa live and they were trying to outrun what looked like a tornado. The reporters said they could feel the pressure of it.
Most internet reports I am seeing are saying half mile wide now. I got the mile wide from what a spotter that was watching said. He was just guessing.
