Any thoughts on our kicker for next year

he as in kirby is the kicker, not chris moore... sorry i am not fully awake

Kirby is not kicking. Kirby is the back up holder behind Bueker. He had started kicking a little in the off season but its such a different motion from punting, I'm not sure if he continued to work on it or not. As far as spring ball though, Edwin Arceo should be the #1 guy going into the spring game, followed by Mitch Amudson and Chris Moore battling it out for the #2 spot but once Cole gets on campus I foresee all of this changing. It'll most likely be anyone's for the taking in fall camp.

You really believe that? They would be smart to redshirt Netton if possible. He needs to experience the big stage.

Netten can start right away. You don't redshirt kickers so they prepare for the big stage if you have no other kickers.
I guess this is what forums are all about, opinions! Kicking off the grass in a Big 12 game is much different than HS kicking off a tee. I believe a RS year would be to ISU's advantage.
Check with Alabama and LSU and tell me what the young really top rated kickers did under pressure. Just because Kohls or one of the other camps said they are great, they haven't had to produce yet on the big stage. If I were special teams coach I would definitely try to keep him as a RS. Let him travel with the team and practice in the various stadiums.
I do understand if your offense doesn't perform you may have to have a back up plan.
