Please explain. I said it had little to no effect. That does not mean it has no effect at all. It means it has some, but it would be in no way considered "substantial".

This latest volcanic eruption of "our coach sucks and so does our AD" was brought on by losing out on a recruit that no one had even heard of until a couple of weeks ago. Our chances of getting Oto were less than 50% at best.

This is patently absurd.
What is hurting our recruiting is our recent history of success (or lack there of) under GM. What is hurting our recruiting is our current coach's apparent inability to communicate effectively with his players which is leading to mass transfers (for things other than lack of PT). What is hurting our program is our style of play under our current coach and the lack of wins / exposure it is bringing to our team and our players.
There are a lot of things that are hurting our recruiting but this board is not one of them...this board is nothing more than a mirror or echo chamber. I can assure you that if things were going well with the MBB program that this board would be unbelievably positive. It is negative because the MBB program is not performing well at present...period.

Unlike during the Floyd years, you don't have ANYONE whining about ISU's style of play. Right now, It doesn't matter if we run Princeton offense or the old Arkansas "40 minutes of hell" offense - the style we play on the court isn't overshadowing our winning record, BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A FREAKING WINNING RECORD!
The vast majority of the criticism leveled at the ISU MBB program right now concerns two areas: Player development/retention and coaching ability. These areas are clearly correlated to performance on the court AND the state of our roster. If you think that ISU is performing up to expectations over the last couple of years, then you're either braindead or a member of Coach Mac's immediate family.
Anyone who wants to tell all the Mac critics to shut up for the good of the program might as well be telling me to "shut up and eat your **** sandwich". Well, you know what? I'm not really feeling like a **** sandwich today, and you can't make me want to eat one. Now if YOU want to chow down on a fecal falafel, be my guest, but NEVER demand that I partake in your feast. That is completely unacceptable.

Loyalty to the University / Athletic Department / MBB program always for me.
Loyalty to the coach of the MBB program when he deserves it.
I personally believe Matt is much more credible than Marty. I'm struggling to think of one thing that Matt has said to date that has proven to be wrong. There might be something there, but nothing that comes to mind...
Love JP, read my posts, never bashed him. He has brought $$$ to the program. As for Mac, don't hate him, he is just not the man for the job.

From what he said, they never once said negative things about the University necessarily. All the negativity was directed at McDermott. Matt posts on here, maybe he can elaborate?
The only reason that this ever gets brought up is because someone accuses the postings on this site of being the reason we are not doing well in recruiting.
If this is true, it should follow then that any site of another university similar to this one that has negative posts would also be impacting their program in the same manner...would it not?
The blunt reality is that most of the other sites I have seen are far, far more negative than this site has ever been and they are top programs getting top recruits every year.
Or maybe you are going to tell me that this phenomenon only is impacting ISU...is that it?
