. Made it to the highest level by showing something to CPR that he put his trust in him...but all of the sudden he can't make simple play calls or adjustments? Its just crazy to think some average guy has more knowledge than a guy that does it for a living.
I would agree if I didn't watch a whole freaking season of plays where the opposing team was more sure of what the play was than the guys trying to execute it.
Find me one other team in the entire country that was as completely inept as ISU at the beginning of games this year. That is a great indicator of a good OC, that he has something to start the game with that will work against a team that he has spent an entire week studying the defensive weakness of. I have not looked but I would be stunned if there is anyone even close to the number of 3 and outs that ISU had in the first quarter of games.
Is it not clear to everyone why teams (and even fans) know what we are going to run? It's because the offense is one dimensional (no dimensional?). Teams don't respect us to through down field. Why? Because we can't. They blitz us because we don't have a QB that burn the defense. We don't have an OL that can run block so you really don't need to sell out the run when your corners can take our WR's one on one. Point being both Mess and the opposing DC know how limited we are so when the play calling is limited because of a lack of ability on ISU's part and then people get on a message board to complain about the play calling I want to rip my nails off. People don't think Mess wants to open it up? Of course he does, we don't have the horses! At least not yet...I have faith in the future.
Does that mean Mess couldn't call a better game? Course not, I'm sure they review every play of every game until it hurts. People don't think they see what we see? Of course they do...if I race jeff gordon and I've got nascar and he's got a Ford escort I'm going to win. Am I the better driver? No, I've got better equipment.
