I never know how to feel when these types of cases are brought up, at least when it involves students (both male and female) over 16. The teacher should obviously be punished but yet I have a hard time identifying the student as a victim (assuming of course it's consensual)

I see it as a more long-term issue, potentially. That incident can follow you around for a very long time and most people aren't going to view it as a positive. If these kids want to shake the incident, they're probably going to have to move away from the area. Who knows.
That's the part I've never understood. These women aren't lacking in sexual opportunities. They must have some kind of fetish about "educating" young guys, or something?
They're going to jail and losing their careers over what probably amounted to 10 cumulative minutes of sex.
I don't know what age of consent is where they are, but if the boys were above that age then I don't see this as a criminal situation but she should never be allowed to work with children ever again.
I would kill my parents if they reported me.
Yeah, i've always felt like above a certain age it should probably cost the teacher their job, which is no small punishment in itself, but it doesnt benefit society in any way to be handing them prison time. Someone having sex with someone of 'normal' sexual consent age isnt a sexual predator by any means.
I kind of wonder what the reaction would be if the teacher were male in this case (as well as the students)

You'd be right that it would get a different reaction, though i'd say my stance would be the same. If she were over the age of consent, he should lose his job, but not go to prison.
I did a little research into this horrible incident (in an effort to better understand it), and apparently she is a Busch Light drinker. Nice.

1. Why is a girl who looks like that at the point where she is willing to have sex with high school kids? Are there no single men in their 20's anywhere near where she lives? I know she wouldn't be struggling to find suitors if there are any around.
2. Who turns the guys in for this type of thing? A situation like this did happen at Clarinda when I was in school, but if I recall correctly the only way it came out was the teacher's husband caught them in the act. These kids had to have been bragging and the wrong person heard it.
