All right, i'll start the first controversy. When was Fred Hoiberg an all-American? Or maybe the better question is: what constitutes being an all-American?
I don't believe he was first, second, or third-team all-American via AP in his final season. He might have been on the honorable mention list, but that's a pretty long list...at least 50 players, on top of the 15 that make 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team all-American.
Grayer, i remember, was 2nd team all-American his senior year, as was Jamaal Tinsley. The only player on the list that i know for certain was a 1st team all-American was Marcus Fizer.

HMMMM. I think you have a good point. This makes us look like we were stuffed with All-Americans. Maybe he was selected because he was dfrom Ames and he was mayor. Maybe some of these people were pre-season all amrerican in Dun and Bradstreet, not Kodak or Bob Hope all american.
