A very bad B1G West

There are probably 4 or 5 teams in the east that think they would win the west. It definitely sucks but Ohio St and Michigan get preferential treatment from the media every single year that gives them access to things they don't deserve. One of them getting screwed over is a win for the little guys and spits in the face of the money men that ruin college athletics. I'll be celebrating it.

I hate Ohio Snake but I'll give them some credit for actually playing ND and not doing three complete nobodies like Michigan did. Michigan's wimp out NC, same next year, should be enough to put them out.

I think in the next 5 years you will see teams get demoted from the P2. A bunch of those schools don’t bring value and don’t deserve the money they’re getting.
The networks aren’t going to continue to pay these huge contracts to conferences that have poor attendance and viewership ratings.

Seems like Ohio st generally plays good non con games, they played Oregon last year, had the home and home with OU a few years back.

I agree with your point in general, but in-person attendance and viewership is not the same thing. One would think they correlate, but not necessarily.

Iowa State is a perfect example. So long as we remain competitive Jack Trice is going to continue to be sold out or close to sold out. But viewership on TV is at an inherent disadvantage to a school like USC or UCLA that is in the second largest media market.

I also don’t think the networks care as much about quality of product on the field. See Cincinnati, BYU, Houston joining the Big 12 as an example. In football they have been materially more successful than Texas, UCLA, and USC in recent years. But that clearly does not matter.

Will be an interesting "opener" for the two West favorites. Minnesota is at ranked Michigan State and Wisconsin is at Ohio State. Either winning will be an upset and a leg up in the division. Iowa is likely to be tied for 1st for at least a week if you go by odds and until they have to play their ranked East teams.

They start playing one another soon so it will be back to the 'beat one another up' narrative.

Somewhere along the lines will be some explanation that they don't take non-conference games seriously.

Yes. Hassel is totally being sarcastic. If you see any of his tweets or listen to his podcasts with Blum or CW his thoughts on the state of Iowa football program right not are entirely clear.

I don’t think Iowa wins on the road this week at Rutgers.

Mich St is not good. Minnesota will crush them.
Ohio St will name the score against Wisconsin. That will be a bloodbath
