A cyclones fan hurt in summary

You really think putting a guy in who hasn't played for 14 minutes is a good idea? It was a long rebound anyway, Matt fought his ass off for it, but he got overpowered.

It wasnt a long rebound it appeared that way because Naz was on the block. Re read your question and your statement.

Yes Solo can rebound after sitting for 38 mins of game action.

There is way too much love on this board for PurDonts bigs. Truth is we had more blocks and Solo had the biggest statement block in the game.

There was less than 10 seconds left in the game, and we had no timeouts. No you don't put in a player that had been on the bench for close to 30 minutes real time.

If you're determined to be critical, letting 7 seconds go off the clock before fouling would be the clearer path

Are you serious? You have to get that rebound. Solo would have got it. Spin it whatever way makes you feel better dude. To win that game you have to get that board even if you are up 1 or 2. Solo should have been in the game. That is on Prohm

You're kidding, right? Swanigan had 20/7/12 and Haas had 14 points, but they are overrated because Iowa State had more blocks? Lol.

You apparently don't watch much Iowa State basketball. The only way we're guaranteed to get the ball is when teams make their free throws. We give up a lot of offensive boards on free throws. We don't have a guy on the roster who isn't guilty of it. Solomon was completely over matched last night (and that's fine...he's a freshman who is going to develop). Neither him nor Burton is someone that's going to go get you the board like say....Swanigan.

And Iowa State was the better team for about 10 of the 40 minutes. We're the more explosive team but they're significantly more consistent.

Can you explain why you think this? If you want to say they were better last night ok but objectively I don't see how anyone can say they are better as a whole.
Well they led for most of the game and won on a neutral court. What else can they do to show they are better?

Hawk fan with cy in screen name? Hold on to living vicariously through the conference, because you add no real accomplishments.

Yeah they played better last night. They also played what most people would consider a good game for them. We played a poor game for us. It was still very close and it took us screwing up the end of the game for them to win.

I don't get how someone can watch that taking all that into account and still think Purdue was objectively better than us. We didn't deserve to win last night but we are the better team.

The second reason we lost was because of Prohm. In a two point game and PurDont at the line shooting 1 and 1 we didnt have Solo in the game to rebound. PurDont misses, gets board and goes to the line for 4 pt game

Oh, JFC, give it up man, that was a once in a hundred type bounce on a missed free throw. How do you know Solomon even would have been lined up on that side?

Yeah, Swanigan absolutely destroyed us. We were TRIPLE teaming him at times. Take him off this Purdue team, and they don't make the NIT. Top to bottom though, ISU was the better team.

Swanigan was going to get his either way. The way Burton was making him look silly on defense ended up being a wash anyways.

The real reason we lost is Edwards and their guard play. We needed to outplay them in the backcourt since that is our strongpoint. Sadly that didnt happen.

You do know how the players line up on free throws right? Solo would have been closest to the basket and the ball would not have come close to him - would have been a non-factor. Purdue is a good team and just a bad matchup for us - time to give credit where credit is due.
