A cyclones fan hurt in summary

Yeah they played better last night. They also played what most people would consider a good game for them. We played a poor game for us. It was still very close and it took us screwing up the end of the game for them to win.

I don't get how someone can watch that taking all that into account and still think Purdue was objectively better than us. We didn't deserve to win last night but we are the better team.

I understand you are upset about the loss, but come on- at least try to look at things objectively.
In what rational world could you come to the conclusion that Purdue played well and Iowa State played poorly? Both teams are typically excellent three-point shooting teams, and both shot threes pretty poorly last night. Outside of that, the game went pretty much exactly how anyone could have expected the game to go.

To claim that Purdue played well and Iowa State played poorly is pretty comical. To claim that last night's game somehow confirms that Iowa State is a better team than Purdue is Trump-level looney tunes/fantasy land stuff.

I thought for a bit that the momentum of that comeback would go all the way but they got thier heads about them just in time. Too big of a hole to dig against a good team in March. This next week is so much less satisfying once isu is done. Hopefully coach can find a way to get them back next year.

You're kidding, right? Swanigan had 20/7/12 and Haas had 14 points, but they are overrated because Iowa State had more blocks? Lol.
I just want to know why Painter sat them on the bench for so long during the big ISU run. Like, what in God's name was he thinking?

Sure, it still was a win for them, but they had to work extra hard for it. Swanigan was out for much of the big run, and then took a bit of time after coming back in to get back up to speed. Haas had 14 points in 15 minutes, but barely saw the floor in the second half. Painter either really thought they were too gassed, or he was really trying to fix that which was not broken.

But, still, they won. Can't argue too much with results.

Don't you have an NIT game to pack for?

Well they led for most of the game and won on a neutral court. What else can they do to show they are better?

This. I understand that emotions are running high and that a lot of us are sad and heartbroken. Hell, I woke up in tears this morning. But objectively, it's hard for me to understand how anyone can claim ISU is still the better team despite losing (and being down 19 at one point), and expect (and maybe even demand) to be taken seriously.
