It'll be funny to see how this changes in the next couple of years. Purdy and Hall are for sure top 10 players, maybe even Rose.

They have Knott and Klien at 15 and 12. I haven't compared stats, but I have a hard time placing Rose in front of either of those guys... at least right now. They have Bailey at 42 and imagine he will climb. Could see Eisworth making this list. Charlie Kolar is arguably our best TE ever, not sure where you place TEs.

Rose is better than Knott and Klein IMO. He came in and started as a true freshman on a good team. Those two just played special teams IIRC

We'll see if Seneca or Purdy has the better NFL career?

By this logic Manziel and Tebow were awful college players.

we are talking about collegiate players in college. What happens when they graduate or leave is of absolutely zero consequence to how they play in college.

Maybe I look at my Iowa State fandom differently than others, but I would rather have excellent Iowa State teams than worry about how that player may or may not perform in a professional sports league where they're an employee.

Purdy may at least go down as the most decorated player, no? Not just the records, but the all-conference lists and all.

Lane was a walk on for sure but he was a stud
He was a really good college WR, but I think it says something about the WR talent when a guy that was 6’0” and appears to hold his schools 100m record at 11.53 become the clear cut #1 WR.

You seem to think that Purdy won't have as good a NFL career as Seneca did, huh? Why?

I would think the NFL would be drooling over Purdy's numbers though, and wouldn't look to kindly on Seneca's INT's in college? Does the NFL look at things besides numbers and wins?

Oh wait.... the NFL wants a prototypical certain sized QB and Purdy doesn't fit that bill. Oops..... neither did Seneca.

If I had to bet on it I think they'll be pretty similar actually
Hopefully Purdy will have an opportunity to play a bit more. I remember watching Seattle just hoping Hassleback would go down so that we could get a glimpse of Seneca. Unfortunately for us he wasn't injured very often.

You don't get to counter an argument I never made. It's pretty clear I don't care at all about NFL production. We need to take NFL production or potential production out of this. Period.

Seneca had more interceptions than touchdown passes at Iowa State.

He only completed 55% of his passes as a senior and had 18 INTs to 15 TDs

This isn't recentism. Brock is like way better than Seneca was and it's really not even close

Seneca was on teams he made competitive that would have been bad without him. Bad QBs don't cash NFL checks for a decade. He didn't stick in the nfl because of his running, it was his elite arm.
