No match if you quit before year end unless it is due to retirement or disability (might be a few more exceptions)That is crappy. If someone quits, do they not get the match for the year in progress?

My employer is moving the 401k match to the end of the year starting next year. Seems pretty crappy to me as it has always been quarterly before. Anyone else get their match at year end?
Nothing is TECHNICALLY a loser until you sell it though![]()
Then it definitely sucks. I don't think I've ever had a 401k where the match wasn't deposited with the paycheck. No match if you quit before year end unless it is due to retirement or disability (might be a few more exceptions)
You are fully vested after 3 years of service which I think is also new because I think it use to be 2 years. Then it definitely sucks. I don't think I've ever had a 401k where the match wasn't deposited with the paycheck.
How long is it to be fully vested?
The match should be based on your actual contributions though. Am I misunderstanding what you are saying? We are matched once at the fiscal end of year. It is changing in 2021, to pay period. This year it did work out, the match came when the market was at the bottom, end of March.

I read his post as didn't work out. My error.I’m sure the match is based on contributions, it’s the timing of the match that he’s referring to. Generally you are better off getting the match every pay period, because you get your money invested every 2 weeks and start benefiting from market gains right away, vs waiting until the end of a calendar year or fiscal year, where the company gives you the match all at once. This year it worked ok for him because the match came when the market was low so he bought stuff on sale.
While today’s news seems great I think they have gone absolutely off the wall nuts with this. I’m up something like 7% since Friday.
You're welcome on the TTD recommendation. The Trade Desk (TTD) went nuts last week. Up almost 30% in a day. Bought my first shares at $170. Over $800 at one point. I've been taking profit along the way, but no one gets hurt taking a profit.
TDOC is a service I love....but with the vaccine talk I'm all of a sudden upside down in the thing
